My Open Letter To Ryan Tannehill

I mean, seriously, why does the bulk majority of this board have be negative, nevative, negative? Because your football team doesn't win? Or they don't add the players you want? Then it should be real simple, go be a bandwagon fan of a winner, go root for the teams that add your players you would have added. Part of the reason winning is so much fun is because of how bad losing sucks. What a miserable way to live, to constantly look for fhe flaws in EVERYTHING, to not have hope or belief that your team can win. Do you think this type of fanhood deserves a winner? I ceetainly don't, who wants to give more to the spoiled little kid who throws a tantrum every time he doesn't get his way.

You think us Dolphins fans have it bad, at least we have some history of success. Imagine being a Lions fan, a Browns fan. A Bills fan. The Bills have been even worse than we have in the 2000's, and you still see the support, good will they opened the year with, the classy fans honoring Jim Kelly, the late Ralph Wilson, still being supportive regardless of the futility of the team. Oakland is a rabid fanbase. I just don't understand a loyalty that ONLY applies when things are going the way you like them to.

Eh, it's not just the losing. It's the fact that the team is an inept, clownshoes-wearing trainwreck that won't stop crashing and burning. Just once in this decade, I'd like to see the Dolphins go a single year without some embarrassing controversy.

2011 it was Ross going after Harbaugh, and then awkward Sparano extension. Bill Cowher sitting up on the CBS set and denouncing the way our owner handled the situation.

2012: Chad Johnson on Hard Knocks. Fireland protests and banners..

2013: More Fireland protests and banners. Bullygate.

2014: Our head coach literally creates his own quarterback controversy by being a stubborn nitwit.

It just gets old, man.

5 coaches, 17 Quarterbacks, multiple public controversies, and only one playoff win in 15 years would wear out just about any fan base.

What is with all the "Stan" fans lately...

Well written and I agree. Not creepy...and I laughed at the #strongertogether part with philbin ruining that mantra himself. Lol.

Not everyone on these boards is a whiny bitch moron. Try not to let them bring you down.

After watching Cousins completely self destruct last night I realized that we do have a good young QB in a similar situation. Just like Cousins, who at least had a year to develop before being thrown into the fire full-time, Tannehill has shown his inexperience. Remember RT had all of ONE year playing the QB position before he was drafted. Cousins on the other hand played 3 years at MSU leading them to two BIG 10 championships. That's a huge difference. And, like Tannehill, Cousins was thrown out there with very little NFL experience and laid an egg on national TV with four, yes FOUR ints. The week before he threw for over 400 yds and 3 tds. What this shows me is what all of us should realize, that life in the NFL with a young QB is going to have these wild ups and downs. Add to the additional Richie drama, a dysfunctional o-line and the change of coordinators and voila, we have the Current Miami Dolphins!

Ups and downs are still going to be there for RT, hopefully a lot more ups, but let's all pull for this young kid to turn it around and do well in London this Sunday. I personally think he's better and has more potential than Cousins, and have a feeling that he will have another "up" and play well.

I think one problem is that 1st and 2nd year quarterbacks have had immediate success in recent years. 20 years ago and prior to that, most quarterbacks didn't see the field until their 2nd or 3rd year and then took about 2 more to become decent pros (Marino was the exception to the rule back then).

Last week's the first time I've questioned Tannehill's career progression. I've been in his corner from day 1 and I thought last week was a make or break game for the kid, so I was very disappointed in his play because I thought he laid an egg when he had to ball out.

I've still got hope for him, but there is now a sliver of doubt creeping in.

The OP studied every available snap that he could from his time at Texas A&M, and Tanny was the QB he badly wanted the Dolphins to draft..

I don't know if this is a fan, a die-hard fan or a stalker!!!!

Cousins is a 4th round draft choice and drafted as a backup. Anything he gives you is a bonus.

And it was us Dolphins fans who ridiculed the Jets for draft Sanchez high after a very short career in college. The same ridicule we used for the Jets is now being used as an excuse for Tannehill. :bobdole:

If OP posted it here as a good old fun thread that is one thing. But putting it into the public domain it makes it creepy.

Happens every year. The fans before the season that complains that some writer has the fins as one of the bottom 10 teams in the league and jumps up and down because the media "hates" us, are the same ones that are the first to go bonkers when we start losing a few games. They can't look at things realistically. When you tell yourself we are going 16-0 and winning the superbowl all off season, every loss suddenly feels like the world is coming to an end. For the most part, the same ones that in May and June were telling me I was not a true fan because I didn't see this as a playoff team, are the same ones that are losing their minds because we are 1-2.
