My solution to the whole Martin/InCog mess

You don't hire a big time lawyer to get fair deal for all involved, you rape the wrong doers especially if there sitting on billions and have a reputation to worry about.......Martin will claim he has to find another career because his football days are over and its not because he doesn't want to play anymore...its because he is a whistle blower, his lawyer will argue and reach a settlement that would pay Martin what he believes is what he would have made in the NFL over a career plus pay his lawyer and medical bills which will be an ongoing with his therapist. I will say about 50-70 million

Bottom line....Martin is about to get paid more than he ever would have as a football player......

I dont think he has any chance to get that kind of money but we shall see. I dont get why you wouldnt hire a big time lawyer to get a fair deal. This lawyer was almost head of the playersime union so Im sure there are few more knoweldegable than him on these matters. Do you not think Stephen Ross has a big time lawyer. Once you make these claims you cannot afford to have no representation

So if you were Martin and you had came to point where you were going to hire a lawyer , you would have hired a public defender.

No I would hire the best lawyer that money could buy, he would be ruthless and he would call the shots not me.......[/QUOTEt
Well this guy would prob fit the description for this case

I don't think it is going to take a whole lot of factual evidence to refute some of his claims. People just need common sense to see the light. I have already seen some of the media start to do their backtrack dances. There have already been claims of players saying martin was replaying the voice mail to teammates and laughing about it. That voice mail is junk for his case. Sorry if he feels uncomfortable in situations but that's life not everything is peaches and cream.

Well if racist stuff was said and thats what makes him uncomfortable then it has nothing to do with thats life.
Hartline seems to be slightly iffy with the last part of his statement

Asked to clarify his point about Martin "laughing" at the voicemail, Hartline said that it was being "passed around" at one point in time as a joke.

"I just remember I thought [the voicemail] was being passed around as a joke," Hartline said.

He said one time it was being passed around then he said he thought

Iffy to the naysayers. The voice mail would have never been said in the way it was had martin not been okay with the language. Sorry if you can't comprehend that, it's just the nature of the brotherly relationship. If you still think that message was cold hearted and mean spirited then you will never change your opinion.

Sadly, you are spot on. That voice mail is worth tens of millions of $ by itself. In today's corporate America, intent doesn't matter in the workplace when it comes to harassment. You are guilty until proven innocent. Richie and the Fins will not be able to fight that voice mail in court. It's sad, but it's reality.

I have no clue whether the messages were mean spirited or not. That remains to be debated. As for brotherly relationship how does any of this fit. I mean if its a brotherly relationship dyamamic wouldnt that mean that Martin wouldnt be doing this to InCog.
I dont think anything is that simple in this case. I only think the message was ignorant whether both parties were in agreement or not but thats not at issue here

In fact Hartline said in the interview "Second of all, if you go through the whole voicemail there are some things said that you probably shouldn't say in general, friends or not friends"
So even Hartline seems to say that the voicemail had somethings you shouldnt say to anybody

The problem right now is that not everything has been released. Which is slowing any reaction that the Dolphins management can make.

that's a good solution if Martin simply wants to get paid and go to another team. but we need to know his motives, if he really just wants to be released this would be great but he either is out for a big payday. or wants to make the nfl bend at the knees

Too late...only shot is to have a caged Death match.

I think Martin has to go for broke. The ESPN article about polling NFL players took the wrong angle. The majority of NFL players do not want him on their team. I doubt he has the motivation to be a good player, and I expect most GMs would agree with me. I just do not see him ever earning a decent NFL paycheck in the future.
