My take on the Offense vs Atlanta

It took all of about one drive to realize that not only is Gibson back healthy, but he's not giving up his #3 spot anytime soon.

I don't know I read on Finheaven that he's "the odd man out" and he was going to get cut.

I would trade Dion Jordan for SF's Carlos Hyde right now. He would be the perfect compliment to Miller and Moreno. Jordan is a bust (3rd pick) (just don't tell SF ..LOL)
Cut our losses and get the player who helps us this year. We have Shelby, Freeny, Fede...we have players that can rush the passer.
Trade Dion Jordan.

Since we know that aint gonna happen, I would like to see if we can pick up a 1 cut bowling ball, who keeps his pads low, and always falls forward off the waiver/cut lists. With our OL, I think we need somebody who can break an arm tackle and although originally I had decent expectations for Gillislee I don't see him sticking around unless he can turn things around and kick it in gear.

It would have looked light years different if either Moore or Devlin were in. Lobato doesnt even know the offense yet..and this isnt an offense u can play Qb in if you dont know it.

tony paige?

I love this board! It was one possession in the first preseason game.

"Cut this guy" "Scheme needs adjusted" etc.

Got a newsflash for you, there WAS no scheming last night. Plainest, vanilla-ist playcalling.

And who cares?

Talk to me after game 3.

Exactly!! Some positive things to take away but overall outlook on the team as a whole is silly to judge at this point. Relax people.

I think it will be Miller (not Wallace) who has the breakout season.

It appears that Gillislee is stepping up. Knowshon will be valuable for his pass protection & to mentor Miller and Gillislee.

Landry & Gibson will help Tannehill take it to the next level.

Isn't interesting how Foles struggled last night??

Ya that's kinda surprising...2 INTs (= to his whole 2013) and like a 39 QB rating...had Tannehill done that this board would already have him playing in the CFL.

I hear you. The defense is going to spend a lot of time on the field, which is less time for Tannehill. And once an opposing offense cranks up a nice long drive, our D comes off the field for a few minutes, and their defense decides, let's stuff the run game and let Miami beat us in the passing game, and Miller can't get yards and it's third and long...it's not going to be pretty. Every effort has to be made to prevent that scenario.

Yes, the injury bug is getting us this year, didn't really last year much. As far as Clay, there's no guarantee he can repeat his performance last season, although we do need him.

Hopefully if we can pump up this offense, and speed it up, because it's really not that fast yet, we can compensate for the fact that we don't have any great RB's right now. Next year that's what I want, a premium back.

That is the main point. We are successful when we get 5 or more yards on first down. Even with that we still often winde up in 3rd and short. Last year we didn't convert those 3rd and shorts very well because Sherman's play calliing was 65% pass. I was impressed with Williams ability to convert the short yardage yesterday and gaining positive yards after contact. Miller did well too but I'm not convinced yet that he's a 20 carry back per game. Last night there was always a run after an incomplete first down which was very predictable and led to a boring game with 3 and outs galore.

Right now I say the strength of this team is at WR.....if I'm GM I am calling the Panthers and Browns to see what I can get for Hartline....

Hartline doesnt need to go anywhere. Add to strength not subtract from it.

That's just it, can't keep them all and can't play them all as a matter of fact I would call San Fran to see if we can trade him for Boone....that acquisition would give us a top ten OL with depth and not take away what we have at WR and the money we save by moving Hartline will be used to pay Boone new contract, San Fran would have a legit #2 possession WR....win win for everyone

Hartline, Gibson, Wallace, Matthews and Landry is a really good core. Most teams would kill for especially SF or CAR so its a positive. Trust the depth that we have building with Turner, Thomas, Smith to get the guard position settled.
