My thoughts after tonight

Did you see the first sack?

What I saw on the first sack was Clayborn eating up that space between Murtha's *** and Henne's personal bubble.

*Clayborn showed great velocity on that play.

Henne attempted to step up, but was immediately met with the leaky bits from the right. Pocket presence won't save you there.

Nice write up, but how can someone throw too many bullet passes but yet not have enough velocity on them??

No kidding. For example the throw to Gates on the sideline. It was about a 30 yard bullet throw. A pass like that needs some velocity. Gates toughed it but it went incomplete.. Although whe it hits your hands you catch it!. The Bush screen that was dropped also shoulda had some velocity. no need to throws a 5 yard bullet pass

Thats the point. Henne shouldnt have stepped up. I woulda hoped he saw the rush coming and got rid of the ball.

lol, no

What I am saying is a bullet pass has to have velocity on it.. that's what makes it a bullet pass.. maybe you are trying to think of a different word

I only watched some of the highlights on nfl.com, but I wasn't pleased from what I did see.

Sean Smith really looked like a pos on that screen to Blounte. He has the perfect angle to make the tackle, and has Bell and the sideline to work with on the right...and he still overplays it...and then after that he has another chance to make tackle... but goes for the forced fumble instead...and gets completely whiffs... just a terrible job there, and cost us a good 30 yards.

The fumble by marshall is unacceptable...the ball isn't even close to high and tight... after he caught it kept carrying the ball away from his body, and thats when unnecessary fumbles happen.

And then I'm hearing we dropped a couple of ints, and of course the o-line looked like crap again. It just sounds like we left a lot of points on the board. And it seems like this team has a habit of doing just that.

So when your blindside blocking is ineffective within sound of the snap a magically open man should appear to save you.

Also, define velocity and give us a specific applied example of what "some velocity" means.

I think he means touch

nice Johnny 5 avatar haha

Can't say I agree with much of that. I especially like the part about our offense being mediocre for scoring 10 points in 2 and a half quarters, and yet our pass defense stinks and run defense is only ok for allowing the same amount of points. Talking about starters obviously.

Did you see the first sack? He needs better presence

I agree, but from what I remember the sacks didnt come from the left side. The first one definitely didnt come from the left.. Look, im not trying to make this into a hate Henne thread. The whole starting offense in 3 quarters couldnt score more than 10 points. Thats a recipe for a 6-10 season even with a #1 ranked defense.
Thats where I dont agree with you. And I respect your opinion, I,ve been here long enough to notice you as a serious poster. I just dont see how you can predict us regressing with Henne playing that way...? He's not going Peyton on us but he's not turning the ball over like he did last year...

I have to agree the word velocity is out of context.

I saw some highlights, what happened on that Vontae interception? What was the flag for I couldn't tell from the quick clip

defensive offsides, that throw was a moot attempt by freeman

ok just got back from the game.

Our Oline SUCKS! our D still drops the ball way to much and damn how many flags were in that game. We have no running game!
