My Views at Fins Camp Sunday

I and many other Dolfans were very disappointed in what we witnessed in AJ Feeley today. He didn't look good at all. He looked like a 3rd string backup today. Even Berlin threw the ball better. I know it's only mincamp but Gus look light yrs ahead of Feeley. Gus is accurate, and makes quick decisions with the ball. AJ on the other hand took longer to relase the abll even when they played w/o any passrush in his face. He even threw a couple of bad ints. I was rooting for Feeley. But today reminded me of last yr when Fiedler outplayed in camp.

I'm not gonna make any excuses for the guy. I've seen many QBs adjust to new offenses like Aikman, Trent Green, & just to name a few. I don't recall ever seeing a QB struggle w/ the offense in Minn. Maybe AJ really isn't the guy man. I was hoping he was. But I truly think Saban's gonna look into next yrsdraft for the QB of the future. From what the fans who attened camp since Friday, AJ Feeley's perfromance has been horrible.

Wow third day in camp and judgement is in, Frerrottes better, course lets forget that Bedards blog said AJ loked better yesterday than Gus, but hey why waste time on such trivial things as that. Dude have your opinion, but stop trying to use a bad day as you absolute proof. That is what your post sounds like. Yes he had a bad day. If he is still having them in September, then I agree Gus should start, but get with reality, there is no way AJ is completely comfortable. He looked better than Gus on saturday from the reports I read, so it means that it is early and alot of prep time still to come.

Feeley hasn't had 2 CONSECUTIVE good days since he came here and had his first minicamp over a year ago!! In fact, I bet he hasn't had 2 consecutive practices OR quarters in a game that were solid. That's what I and others are getting at. Why can't you people see that from a simply looking at the facts from a pure black and white persepctive??

Oh please, stop it already with the highly exaggerated excuses. We went 4-12..hardly close to one of the worst years for an NFL team ever  He still had CC, McMike, and Booker, not to mention Morris avg. over 4 yards per carry

bro, I think phishstix was messing around.....he's just as skeptical of feeley as all of us...he was making fun of the excuses

Yea, so even tho yesterday (or Friday) when nearly EVER pass was crisp and out quickly, and many noted his quick release, now he sucks because you saw him have a few bad throws?

Sorry, I'll wait and see.

remember one of the biggest knocks on feeley is he has never been a very good practice player. plus its only mini camp. when the pads are on, then I will make my judgment on feeley.

Since you obviously have never heard, I'll repeat was has been said time and time again, he plays better then he practices. And it you want to note his play in games, look at the last 3-4 games and see his stats while playing completely injured-finger, butt, ribs, etc.

just out of curiosity, can I hear your take on the rest of the team?

come on rickey.....you are one of the few that said that if Gus starts that would support him, yet you continue to make excuses....how long will it take before you finally come to grips with the idea that Gus just may be better than AJ? That AJ isn't that "special" as many have made him out to be?

btw, once again....just taking the positive from something, and not the negative. Bedard also said that none of the QBs looked good, yet there have been many posts by members here saying that Feeley has not looked great, yet Frerotte has performed well. but you choose to ignore that. Bedard has no more personnel evaluation skills than any of the fans on here....

thanks for thinking you know what I have heard....but yes, I have heard that excuse....another one of the many.

And as for the last 3-4 games of the season...I saw a QB who still threw for less than what should be done by a starter, still couldn't read a defense and make solid decisions, and still looked as green as a backup thrown into play. When Sage played the final game of the season....there was no difference in the teams play, it was almost like Feeley/Sage were interchangeable with no effects.

I wouldnt read too much into it.AJ is a notoriously bad practice player.

In one practice session last year before a game where he started he threw 8 interceptions and he improved dramatically in the real game only throwing 5 interceptions.(Just kidding)

LOL! Well being that they're not in pads, I can only really judge from what I see out of receivers and QB. Chambers still does his thing by having his way with any corner out there, and Gus really looked impressive during the scrimmage. The young inexperienced WRs and TEs dropped the ball a lot. But the vets were up to par.

But what I and everyone else loved is the way Saban gets after his players. If you make a mistake, he will let you have an ear full. He was out there screaming at players. Last yr Wanny didn't say anyhting when mistakes were made on the field in minicamp. Many fans cheered got fired up every time he yelled at someone. Saban is definitely what this team needed.

BTW...Y. Bell and T. Jones are the starting safeties this yr. Tilman played with the 2nd team.

The guy looks bad. I'm sorry, but good QBs don't struggle with new offenses. If they brought in a WC offense, that's something else. But this is a very QB friendly offense.
Actually, prior to last season AJ always worked in the WCO, or a version of it. As good as Minnesota's offense was last year, I don't expect the playbook to be easy to pick up on.

And mine weren't because you don't agree with them??

Mine are backed by fact, and can't really be refuted.

Maybe AJ is what he is, a backup, and trading a 2nd rounder to get him is not going to change that simple fact! Its like someone trading a 2nd for Sage is not going to make him any better. I think the same thing happened with Fiedler, we made the Jags backup QB our starter and that worked out well, LOL!
