I only started watching football in 2000 but the worst I saw has to be Mularkey. I ranted more about that man than any other person involved with a sports team. Someone on this site, I don't remember who, had an Indiana Jones signature picture with the title "Mike Mularkey and the Playbook of Doom." I loved that sig and I had saved the pic but my hard drive had crashed before I got a new computer :boohoo:

Anyway, good thread. I like to criticize Sherman a lot for specific play calls (and abandoning the run too quickly), but overall, he's not that bad.

Mike Mularkey was TERRIBLE. He would honestly be my second choice. Absolutely terrible. I thought Scott Linehan was really good, so moving to Mularkey was such a letdown.

Mularkey reminded me a lot of Mike Sherman in that he would call the most inexplicable plays at the most critical times.

Too many "worst" OC's to really narrow it down, but the very worst DC we ever had was Tom Olivadotti. He cost Dan Marino a SB or two, because his defenses always sucked, and Shula is largely to blame for keeping him around.

I dont know whats worse. Continuing to run the Wildcrap when it is netting 2.5 YPA and callling a PA pass on 3rd and 20, or calling shotgun runs on every 3rd and short we see.

Or running play action passes with no running backs.

Technically the Wildcat is a Gus Malzahn creation, BUT David Lee and Houston Nutt took what was actually a creative base offense and turned it into Darren McFadden taking a direct snap and either running or handing it off to Felix Jones.
