Nasty's Notes 8/03

Be real interesting if you could remember who the safety was that was playing deep. Then it'd be a real discussion on who that safety was playing close.

I am almost positive it was Bell

Just guessing I would say the younger safety with speed was at the line, with the veteran back to help out the corners in case some one got through the pressure.

thanks for the report, I think it's just a matter of time for Boston, i read that he's feeling a lot better now, almost healthy, which last week I think he was taking breaks, and being somewhat cautious. I think now, with him feeling better, he's playing like himself, the depth chart that had him as the 4th receiver, is only players penciled in for now or preseason, it's not set in stone, I think with his progression that he's making, that by the time the regular season comes around or maybe before, Boston will be marked as the no.3 receiver.

Thanks Nasty, good report. so overall how does the team look?

This was the best practice I have attended... Looked good

Unlike last year, it seems like this year the QBs are ACTUALLY close. Last year it was Wanny's love of Fiedler vs AJ. Now it seems like an actual fair competition between two QBs doing decently.

Interesting and you said earlier that Shulters has been on the field at times with Bell. So it was either Shulters or Jones up there. These safeties could get real interesting as camp goes on.

He has been looking better the last couple of practices... But still locks on sometimes though. Hes not there yet but hopefully he will be. Needs to work on the short routes. His deep ball is something though...

Thanks for the response. That's why I'm hoping he keeps improving. That deep ball in Linehan's offense sure would be fun to watch

Nah Feeley knew things weren't right last camp and spoke on it and ended up in Wanny's doghouse. Wanny's most critical mistakes were that he could not judge talent and provided many moments of favortism.

It couldnt have been Jones because I would have instantly seen the red jersey. it stands out. It was probably Shulters.

That's interesting that they would have Shulters on the line, with Bell deep. If so that says a lot about Nick's confidence in Bell.

With the way Saban rotates things around I wonder if he's going to have Shulters play both safety spots (or it could just be cause of injury with Tebucky but then Bua should be getting reps).

It would make it harder to pick on either safety if Shulters is splitting time at both positions. Would keep them fresher to.

yeah, a good example is Fiedler.

God that boat is so over. Let it go man. Breathe, relax, let it out. The ears have left the field.

I was more commenting on his favoritism of Vets over younger players in general.
