Nasty's Notes IV (From Camp)

Power isnt hte only thing a punter needs, you also need a punter who can directional kick and keep a ball inside the 20. IF the Dolphins are at mid-field with this young guy punting the ball and there are touchbacks every time, it's certainly not good. We have awhile to go before we find out if Turk gets cut.

Obviously... but all I was sayin is if this kid shows what he did today... Turk is in trouble. They were both aimin at the corner and hit it at about the same percentage... except the kid as a stronger leg. I aint giving him a roster spot yet... I am just letting you all know first that Turks job might be in alot more jepardy than you all think...

I thought Manny was out for week or 2? and isnt Moore still on the PUP list?

Moore definatly was out there... either that or someone with his number... who knows... I was so damn confused about Shaw and Wright, they could have been f**kin wit me with Moore's number too (Still not too sure who is who between Wright and Shaw... they are both listed as 75)

Nasty, Haw has been cut..

Nasty, I noticed that you listed Brandon Haw as wearing a red jersey. He was cut prior to camp, so I am curious as to who may be wearing his jersey. Thanks for your report. I am envious, being out to state, but I bought a ticket to the Saints Dolphin game yesterday (71 dollars for a bleed seat). I am pumped about seeing them.

how is that josh shaw guy doing overall, i heard a lot of good stuff about him, also DE flemons was mentioned as a maybe a surprise player but haven´t heard much of him

I'd be suprised if we cut Turk. It's my impression that the LSU punter battles some inconsistancy, and before he proves himself over a period, I think Turks job is safe.

Nasty's Notes:

Sorry it took so long for me to post this... had to take the woman to a movie. Alright... Before I start, most of the practice was on the far field... WHICH SUCKS... because you can barely see anything. Especially because there is a big tent on the sidellines between you and the field that blocks half of it. So it is really hard to see much at all so I wasnt able to gather as much information as normal. Also wasnt able to watch all the people you guys wanted to hear about. sorry... I will get em next time. Now...

Before I start I wanna fill you in on some breaking news.... Matt Turk will be cut. You heard it here first. Not because Turk sucks or anything, because he doesnt. He did fine in practice today and has been very productive durin his carreer. However... This new punter kid (cant remember his name) we got that used to play wit Saban at LSU is a stud. Anything Turk did... this kid did better. Turk would be punting about 50-55 yards... this kid was punting 55-65 yards... just straight up bombing them. He had atleast 7-8 punts of 60 yards or more. Then... they started to punt em up high for hang time... and this kid can punt them higher than Ricky. I was using the second hand on my watch (not too accurate) but I had the hang time at 6 seconds on a few of em... Turk looked great... this kid looked better... and his contract is a hell of alot cheaper I can gaurentee that. Who knows... maybe Saban can get a draft pick for Turk...

OK...Today was in full pads. I am pretty sure Wright is now #95. I could be wrong. Either way I am pretty sure he was playing today. D-Mac was too and wasnt in red which is a good thing since I thought he got hurt yesturday... he must be fine. Tillman, Brandon Haw and Josh Shaw were in red... Holliday and Chester did not practice.

We seem to be blitzing a hell of alot. I like it alot! Crowder and Moore started with the first team in the 4-3. Pretty sure Moore was SLB and Crowder was WLB.

Gordon - Look quick today. Ran very fluid and had some nice cuts...

Couldnt see much of the QBs or receivers... But Feeley threw a bomb (45 yards in the air) that was awsome over the CB to Chambers who had toasted the CB (didnt see who it was). The throw was sweet but the catch was amazing... you know... typical Chambers one-handed grab... who was able to catch it still in stride because the throw was pretty much where it had to be... Chambers didnt have to dive... just reach out... the pass went for a TD.
Gus actually had a scramble for about 20 yards... kinda funny

Vickerson, Wright, and Flemons all had a sack...

Donald Lee caught 1 out of 2 balls thrown to him that I saw... the one he dropped was pathetic...

Lance Shulters - Looked great out there for only being here 2 days. Looks very comfortable and doesnt seem to be haveing any trouble adjusting to the system.

Brandon Ayanbadejo actually looked really good today from what I saw. Looked quick and had a nice pass deflection and also had a nice tackle for loss behind the line of scrimmage on Minor.

The defense got the better of the offense today (when dont they?)

Alright... sorry I wasnt able to see much, but I tried to tell you all I was able to see... Hope it gave you your fix...

Feeley will be doing this two or three times a game by mid season.
They practice on the far field because other teams send scouts.
For anyone who hasn't been to camp there is so much going on at such a fast pace that it is realy difficult to keep track of.
Thanks for a great report Nasty.

Look at the roster here:
http://www.miamidolphins.com/lockerroom/teamroster/teamroster.asp
Shaw is 95, Wright is 75. Who ever is in charge of updating finheaven's roster has been sleeping on the job. :)

MrClean's correct, the pictures of the crying manuel wright have him wearing 75.
The depth chart just released from the sun-sentinel has shaw as 95, and wright as 75.

ya... it was just confusing because the program had Shaw as 75 also... i figured I would just report what 75 and 95 each did and then let you guys do your research and figure out who each was...

You should have added to the breaking news and said Donald Lee CAUGHT A PASS TODAY!! :D

hilliarius . that is breaking news if donald lee caught a pass , dont tell me he had super glue to make the ball stick !

well who wants to live until the last drop of beer is gone ?

is it safe to assume that donald lee will not make it to the pro bowl this year ?:cooldude:

Gotta build for the future. And if he is cheaper, it means signing Drew Brees next year is a lot more possible. know what i mean, jelly bean?

hmmmmmm, turk is safe. kid is from LSU. Saban brings him in because he knows him. Kid nails 60-65 yarders. building for the future...........hmmmmmm, not so sure Turk is safe. Not saying your wrong in the end.........but If I were Turk, I wouldnt be thinking that. that is dangerous!
