needs for next year?

Even if Ferotte ends up playing good, he's old and wont last long!So next year we're Definately still looking for a QB.

Coach Hauck is one of the best at what he does, by the end of the year people will be singing a different tune about our O line:cool:

D backs
QB

Unfortunately much easier to state the only two positions with players under contract for 2006 that don't have big concerns with talent, youth, depth, expiring contracts, etc.

LB: Have good mix of OLB/MLB-ILB types with both veterans (Thomas, Spragnan, Seau) and youth (Crowder, Pope, Moore). Plus a good set of 4-3 DE/LB hybrids with Taylor, Bowens, Roth.

RB: Ronnie & Ricky

Quarterback will be a need for sure. Saban needs to draft one next year. Also, I think they need to draft a safety and cornerback. Probably an offensive lineman or two as well.

quarterback by far.
we should use a first day draft pick on one of the studs in next years draft.

the only help I see thats needed on the o-line is the center poisition, the rest of the line seems to be coming along nicely. We need a QB, OLB (Seau should be retired), a couple DBs and a Center

Why Not Just Start A Thread That Says...i Am Bored And Just Want To Start A Thread

Next years draft is very very deep at OL I expect to take an offensive lineman early next year. There are a few Safeties, that we will take a look at, that will be at the top of the draft but nothing to really oogle over unless some kids enter the draft early. I think Saban will more realistically take a QB in the 2nd round next year because there are only a few that I would consider first rounders at this point. If Omar Jacobs enters the draft early, which he has openly stated that if he has a good year and Bowling Green wins the MAC that he would strongly consider it, and if we are able to get a shot at him Linehan would convince Saban to draft him. He reminds me alot of Daunte Culpepper. We will Probably address any cornerback need we have as well, even though it seems apparent that Poole and Daniels will be our future starters but I see it likely that Saban gets another CB.

Good analysis. I do wonder about Poole, though. At 5-10 I don't think he fits the mold of a starting DB for Saban. I think he'll settle into a quality nickle, dime back. Right now, the secondary looks like a major concern and an area that Saban will want to address early. Jacobs could be a great pick as could a number of top offensive linemen. Depending on how Vickerson and Wright develop, DT could also be near the top of the list.

guys what do you think will be our most pressing need in next years draft and free agency?

dt, qb, oline, or db(safety/corner)

A Division Title and a First Round bye....

Baby steps..people...baby steps....

NO way of telling what we will need personnel wise since we dont know what we have.

depends on how Wright develops, he has a lot of talent, but it;s a matter of when he will be ready to be aneffective starter for us. May need another DT, have to see how Vickerson develops also. I think (hypothetical) If Brees plays well this year, maybe Rivers comes in a couple games for Brees, if he happens to get injured, and shows enough potential for The Chargers to really have some dilamma, then I say Brees or Rivers, even though I would like Brees, no lag time, becuae he isn't a rookie, good qb, and is still young. Either or would be nice though, A second round pick for either one, of course they will cost some dough, but definilty less than what a first round rookie qb would be. Depends obviously how well we do this season, but with the first round pick that is say somewhere in the middle, 20-24, draft a cb, hopefully snag a possible cb like Dunta Robinson, or the cb from Atlanta, possible shutdown corner, becuase I don't know, Will Poole seems inury prone, the reason we had him in the 4th is because he worried some teams with a foot injury he had. I hope Daniels does well at cb, but it would give depth, because Daniels seems like a good versatile player, if Poole gets injured next season, it could be the cb and Daniels, or if Poole's healthy next season, Poole, rookie cb, and Daniels at FS. I don't know if we need much from the O-line becuase I think we should wait and see, I'm already see much imporvement on the line, it looks better than last years already, so wait see for that. We probably will, Ihope, relaese Madison next season, I like the guy but he hasn't done much the past few years whereas surtain was. Madison would've been traded this year, but it would've hurt the teams cap the way its structured, but next season Miami could try to trade him. We will need to resign, McMichael next season, and have cap for the rookies or Brees/Rivers. Releasing or trading would free up the cap, and really help out there was quite a bit from Madison on the cap, and release Howard, I think he has taken up some cap space too when Wanny had him last year.

Here is my very, very early mock draft:

Round 1: Omar Jacobs QB Bowling Green (A Culpepper clone perfect for our team!)

Round 2: Mike Degory C Florida (A very tough nasty player that would be perfect fit in Houck's O-Line)

Round 3: Claude Wroten DT LSU (Saban's own player, doesn't have the exact size but you hate to bet against him, has lots of upside)
