New (linehan) vs Old (Norv)Offensive system

Doesn't it usually take people longer to grasp the concept of 1+1 then it does to grasp the concept of algebra?

Linehan-Linehan as we kno is more of a pas happy guy and uses the run to set up the pass. IT worked well in Minny considering waht depth that had a running back. Plus having Randy Moss and Daunte Culpepper can also help, but he defiantly likes to sperad Defense's out more then Norv does.

Turner-He now will most likely use the pass more then the because for 2 main reasons, Randy Moss and The RAiders suck something over when they run the football. When he was with Miami Norv didnt have a QB who had a Strong arm like COllins does. Fiedler didnt have the arm do go down field that often the only reason he has those long passes if becasue chambers is really good after the catch.

Anyone notice how Oakland went vertical so much more than when he was with Miami? Wanny would not let him. It's true Oakland had no running game but neither did we at times even with Ricky in 2003.

There was another thread about this. It does seem like Linehan's system is pretty simple. The WR routes seem to check off one way about 80% of the time...deep. That's it. The short and intermediate stuff is for the backs and tight ends. We're getting our WRs use to the idea of catching the ball 40 yards down the field or more, and our QBs use to the idea of heaving it that far fairly often. Norv's playbook was much more complicated. Martz's playbook is the most complicated out there and his is a derivation of Norv's playbook.

But Norv's playbook was not his strength as an offensive coordinator. It was his play-calling.

Parrot, back about 5 or 6 years ago I used to post on Miami Herald's website, were you on that site? Sorry to get off track here boys. Turner did nothing here for us at all, I think he is VERY overrated.
