After the adquisition of Ephraim and Middleton this is my prediction for the Phins 2005 O-line at the start of the regular season:
LT: Carey / Mcintosh
LG: James / McKinney
C: Hadnot / Ephraim
RG: Middleton (if he stays healthy) / St Clair
RT: Mcdougle / St Clair

IR:Smith
PS:Alabi / Wilson

In comparing this line to last year's I believe we will be a lot better. Any comments?

That starting 5 looks good to me.

I just hope Middleton earns his right guard spot. I'd love to see him win it over St. Clair, and not just handed to him.

if shulters cant get the job handed for fs.. then im sure frank has to work his *** off..its harder to learn oline as well.. we will see tho

He will have to earn it!! Neither Coach H, nor Coach Saban are the type of coaches who would just give any position to anybody. Look what they are doing with Ricky, clearly our best Rb in camp and he is still practicing with the 3rd team!

Ephraim the ******ed Rabbit will not supplant Seth McKinney at the Center spot.

I have Hadnot starting at C. He played that position in college, and is now getting some practice time there. I've been to a couple of practices and i've seen the O-linemen play, and believe me Seth is our weakest link in the O-line.
I believe when all is said and done coach H will get the best 5 players starting.

I hope those are the starting 5 - we'd have a BIG powerful line finally! I'd say McKinney is the backup center though - I just don't know how good Ephraim is though. Also, I don't think they can afford to PS Alabi if he is their future tackle. For a 5th rd pick it might be too risky. They might have to though if he cannot be a swing tackle or play guard. I'm not a St. Clair fan but he can play all the positions which helps. I just don't think he is a dominant lineman though. If DMac can be a swing tackle and McKinney can back at center and guard they might not need St. Clair. I'd rather see Alabi - at least he has an upside.

I'm just worried about having 5 new starts on the O-Line again. I believe we were the first team ever to have 5 new starters on the O-Line last year and that was horrible. Hopefully Houck can get the new 5 sorted out better.

Dude, since when did the word ******** become a curse word. Yeesh.

Mod Edit: We have members with children and loved ones who don't appreciate like that word being tossed around as an insult. It got bad for awhile. I'm sorry you don't agree. But circumvent the filter again and you'll sit out.

And you missed the point. I said Ephraim the Removed Rabbit will not beat Seth McKinney out on the depth chart at CENTER. If Hadnot does start at Center, and I believe there's a strong possibility for that, then McKinney will still be the immediate backup at the position IMO.

You may be right, but based on what???...

If Ephraim is even half way decent, he should be able to beat out McKinney. I think McKinney's days at Center are officially over. They will likely keep him, but I would assume it would be as a back-up OG....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I don't know why people keep moving McKInney to guard. If he can't get any movement at center, why would he make a good guard where power is most important. He doesn't have good foot speed or the arms to be a tackle. He's a Center, and not a very good one.

CK you may be right, but watching Seth play in the practices I've witnessed...Ugly!!! That's why I have him as a back-up guard, and Ephraim as the back-up C.
