Yeah but they weren't great throws. Nothing in stride but lofted up and the Wr made good play on ball and it was a jump ball. Those passes can also be intercepted or jump the route too. That's the the most effective deep passes are often the over the shoulder, in stride caught pass to WR

yep, getting a quick start will be huge. That's usually important playing away as it helps quiet the home crowd, but especially with saints offense not being good.
