New Snippet on Lance Schulters!!

schulters will be an upgrade over tillman...it would be sweet if we can sign schulters and law...then we would have madison and law at cb and jones and schulters at safety...that would have the potential to be a very good secondary...

Your comment on Schulters is just plain dumb.

And 2, perhaps you could suggest someone thats an offensive lineman that would be an upgrade??? I certainly don't see anyone out there.
 
Well, I hope that IF we sign him, it is to no more than two years. I think Saban views all the veterans as stopgaps. Holliday, Jones, Law, Schulters, Carter, Seau and even Taylor and Thomas.

Having said that, he is by far, the best available option and would solidify a shaky secondary. I don't know how fast he is. I doubt he is faster than Quintin Williams ( :lol: ) but I am not sure he would even need to be "fast" in Nick's scheme.
 
Boy I hope we land him. After that signing, our D will me something fierce. QUestion I have is: Would you guys rather Knight/Freeman, or Shulters/Jones? I think it is a toss up.
 
I have a feeling this is going to happen. Schulters would be a perfect fit on a tough defense. Another injection of nasty is what our defense needs and Schulters can definitely bring it. He would make a great mentor for Yeremiah Bell and possibly Travis Daniels if he moves to safety. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Now if we could just get our passing game going...

Oh God, no question Schulters and Jones.

And that's just because of Lance Schulters. You could pair Schulters with any of the other 3 and that's the tandem I'd pick.

Whohoo I've liked Shulters since his 9er days (and I hate the 49ers)

If we sign him I wonder how long the contract is going to be.
 
great news... schulters and jones makes our safeties look good... and all of a sudden our secondary is a strength once again.

Btw if we were to sign him, I would only give him a 2 year contract (age reasons), but either way, wow, thats a BIG upgrade YES!

I dont see Saban offering much more than a 1-2 year contract for Schulters. Like it was stated earlier, he's most likely using these older vets as stop-gap players. I applaud the way he's signed and targeted older vets with something to prove (Holliday, McDougle, Spragan, Edwards, Boston, Schulters, Law) for bargain contracts. It gives him more time to develop a younger team (Brown, Roth, Crowder, Daniels), and allows us to remain competitive as we build through the next couple drafts.
 
I just don't see how we can be excited for a guy whose put up 0 INT's in half his seasons whose coming off nearly a year without playing.
