New Twist

If the media would do its job, we would find out if there was a connection.

If the media would do its job, ya know, reporting the news and not making the news and telling you how to think, we wouldn't have a freaking lawyer investigating our team in the middle of the season.

If looking at the correct lawyer named Ted Wells appointed by Goddell to investigate the Dolphins then I actually have my first concern. Ted Wells is a very well respected attorney who just so happens to have gone to school at Harvard Law. Yep, the same Harvard as C Gus Martin, Jonathan's dad. Yes, they were there at the same time. Wells is 5 years older and graduated his JD in 1976. Martin attended 1973-1978.

So yea, turn up your league hates the Fins theories now because they have teeth.

Gus Martin was an undergraduate at Harvard and graduated in 1978. He went to law school at Duquesne. Ted Wells was in law school there and graduated in 1976. They might know each other, but when I went to undergrad, I didn't know any graduate students.

I did when they taught classes. When I was in organizations with them.

Im not saying they are bff - just that this is a really uncomfortable coincidence that shouldn't exist. Many Harvard people are proud of themselves and find some form of unity in it. It would be easy for a very skilled attorney to help one of his fellow alum's son save face - especially if that son were to magically decide to now pursue a grad degree at Harvard making him the first fourth generation black student there.

Never underestimate ulterior motives or agendas.

Looks very conservative me to me. Went to the same school as Clarence Thomas. Defended G Gordon Liddy. He's african-american, I believe, which will be good because there are racism charges involved and whatever determination he has will have credibility. This was a necessity. And keep in mind, he was appointed by the league, not Martin.

I would be more worried if the lawyer was never in an NFL locker room and the culture there will be wholly foreign to him. In my mind the shennanigens commonplace in the athlete's domain will be looked at with shock and disdain by a cultured fellow.

this has more lame twists than a M Night Shyamalan movie.

Sixth Sense was good, Ill give you that, but the rest..........

I work in the firm where Ted is a partner. He is a great guy. Huge sports fan. A friend of his who graduated college with him played for the 72 dolphins. He is very well respected by his peers and is one of the brightest lawyers around. He is the best in what he does.

I have no doubt that both Ross and the NFLPA were at least minimally consulted in his selection.

Let's wait and see what happens, folks.

Good to know, thx
