i DONT understand how Oakland was able to trade Buchanan for a 2nd AND 3rd round pick.....yet we cant even get a 2nd rounder for Patrick Surtain???

Because Buchanan is not getting the kind of money Surtain will.

Cutting D Thompson and D Bowens would give us enough to sign our 1st rounder at #2, the rest of our picks are waaayyy cheap to even bother.

How is a low paying D. Thopmson cut going to give Miami enough money to sign the 1st rounder at #2?

derrius thompson made the game winning TD catch against New England....and it was a DARN GOOD catch too. I like Derrius, and i think we should keep him

He has also taken two paycuts to stay. I don't really want to see him cut unless someone actually comes in and takes his job.

Just tag him next year then trade him....teams do it all the time. I highly doubt that we'll lose PS next year for nothing. If by some chance we do, then we'll have plenty of cap space for a replacement & most likely a 3rd compensatory pick the following year.

With that being said, I strongly believe that he'll be wearing another uniform next season but it might not be a KC uni...:cooldude:

Tag him and trade him? We can't trade him WITHOUT a franchise tag. Who the heck is going to send us more in draft picks? Nobody wants to pay him franchise money AND sign him now.

Its possible that his stock could rise this year, but doubtful. If we didn't trade him with the tag, we would have a 11M or whatever cap hit. Yikes.

Exactly.

I think that the Chiefs are going to budge. They are playing games right now right back to us. But I really think that they want him and WILL give up a second, they are just trying to steal him.

This is a dead deal. The only way that Carl Peterson will give in is if one of the three top CB's are off the board when #15 comes around. Otherwise, I don't expect Peterson to cave. We all find out come Saturday evening when the Chiefs #46 pick comes up because it won't be done before then.:shakeno:

They cough up the #2 and the #4 otherwise they watch Randy Moss catch 4 touchdowns a game twice a year.

They also lose their only window of opportunity to win a super bowl (I doubt they could even with Pat, team has no heart).

Beating the Raiders is easy for the Chiefs...adding Randy Moss doesn't help them stop the Chiefs offense! Chiefs swept the Raiders last year & will do it again this year, with or without Surtain. The Chiefs have higher goals then beating the friggin' Raiders!:roflmao:

The Raiders defense was worse then the Chiefs last year. Yes, you heard me, they were worse then KC's defense. I didn't know it was possibly myself until I checked the stats. They also traded away two of their decent to mediocre defensive starters. Think about that for a minute.

they had an above average amount of injuries last year. Now they have Moss.
