Who cares what non-Dolphins fans think?
I think 90% of the problems on this site are because fans care what non-Dolphins fans think.

Hey, I think the Ravens logo is pretty ugly too.. but at least they just have a B instead of trying to put a helmet on the Raven.. That would look quite dumb..

The helmet on the Dolphin just doesnt fit, and I guaratnee if I were to poll NON-Dolphin fans, they would agree.. I like the colors, I even like the Sunburst.. I have no problem with tradition, but I am certainly not beholden to it.. I actually feel alot of problems in our world occur when people are completely beholden to tradition regardless if something might be a positive or neccesary change or not.. Taking a silly helmet off the Dolphin doesnt ERASE tradition, or history or our wonderful accomplishments.. Like has been noted SEVERAL times, the logo has already undergone change.. It didnt erase tradition then, and it wont in the future... It would be naive to believe the uniforms and logo wont go through change in the future.. Even the most TRADITIONAL teams have had tweaks to their unis and logo design..

Polling non Dolphins fans don't count though, and I doubt that many would think it that silly. The helmet fits fine. This is football, and it's a football helmet. It's how they found a way to use the M, without making the M look out of place.

Tradition is a GREAT GREAT thing. Certainly in this case, just because you hate a helmet, does not make it a positive, or at all necessary that it be changed. Not everyone agrees with you, I'm sure of that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone such as myself defending tradition. It won't affect world problems whatsoever.

Like I noted to you, the Logo has only been changed once. That's it. It took 30 years for that to happen, and changing it again within 10 years in crazy. Especially when it still fits.

The teams who have changed logos the most have been around since football began. Miami hasn't been around half that long.

That D has been on a Dolphins hat for a few years. I do find the mix pretty interesting.

At least the Dolphin still has his helmet.

So lemme get this straight...you've been on this soapbox for three days because you think someone else's opinion is wrong?

Nope! Someone asked my opinion that wanted change. Not once did I say anyone was just plain wrong. I just gave my side, and even liked some of the artwork.

BUT since you asked. The premise of a Message Board is to debate opinions. Otherwise there would be 100 replies in each thread that said, YEAH I AGREE, and nothing more. Okie Dokie?

The dolphin should only keep the helmet if he has the logo on his helmet instead of an "M". I never understood why he didn't have the logo on his helmet in the first place.

I could care less what other people tink< Im just looking at it from a design perspective and that style went out back in the 60s... I know a ton of people like it because of "tradition" but the helmet really does detract from the overall design..

I never said you didnt have a right to your opinion.. I respect your opinion, mine jsut differs from a design perspective.. that all..

I just feel people become too attached to things.. I dont think there should be any RADICAL change.. I just think it needs to be a bit modernized.. ie, getting away from the cartoonish design type of the 60s.. Honestly, is removing a helmet that much of radical change?

I know, my point is that you seemed to be on Skape because you thought he was just wrong, not necessarily because you had a different opinion. That's all.

This one looks nice to, but it seems to suggest a complete colors/uniform change, because sky blue or whatever you want to call that(not aqua) is clearly not near our current color. It doesn't look bad, but I don't know about the drastic change.

btw, the finheaven logo looks nice and all, but it doesn't belong on the teams helmet.

Actually that is Aqua(not aquamarine) also known as cyan: http://www.createafreewebsite.net/html_tutorial/color_chart.html

I just brought down the value to make it a touch darker than true aqua, which is #00FFFF or 0,255,255. The one I used was #00b4b4 0,180,180 I believe. Someone asked for a version of that "d" helmet with close to our old-school aqua color for the helmet.

Go back a few pages. He replied to me first (in this thread) which is cool. Skape and I have been thru this before. It's a respectable debate, nothing more. In reality though, I must think he's wrong because I do have a different opinion.

;)

just for fun, how about an orange helmet with a white or aqua dolphin?

I just got done reading the ENTIRE thread for the first time and thought you both brought up very good arguments.

Personally..I'd like a little less navy blue in the current color scheme. Leave the logo as is. The Yankees still and will always wear pinstripes. Our logo should stay the same.
