Next Round of Leaks from Martin Has Arrived

Ive said it in other threads, but the Dolphins support is playing straight into Martin's camp. Step away from being a Dolphins fan for a minute. Step away from being a football fan for a minute.

You hear of a case where an employee claims he was in a hostile work environment and was forced to conform to a certain behavior. Immediately after he says that, the other employees come racing out and say "he should have been a man about it!". Seriously, what would you think?

The players speaking up for Incognito plays extremely well to Dolphins fans. They love it. They grow rabid off it. "Our team sticks together, rawr!", "Us against the world baby!", "Bring it media! BRING IT!". But on the outside? Its hideous, we look like delusional psycho's.

Ive seen all of this before. Ive seen all of this on this forum. Penn State alums rabidly cheered when their students rioted in defense of Paterno. Nationally? They were mocked and it became a sign of disgrace. Tea Party supporters rabidly went nuts off the narrative they were gonna kick the commie out of office. What happened? They got stomped. And in both cases...those who were caught up in it never saw the defeat coming. Despite all the evidence available.

I dont even know what evidence Martin has. Right now its pretty circumstantial. But the team is bolstering his case at every turn. They are building up the hostile work environment claim for him.

Disagree. Since the player reactions have come out the media has backtracked and questioned their original stance. Not what you describe at all. And no one has condoned what Incog has said. They are speaking the truth, that is all. They're describing the situation as it is, they aren't piling on Martin. They are TELLING IT LIKE IT IS. None of them knew. Martin never talked to anyone. If he did they would've figured it out. This is all coming from the players.

The media has done the exact opposite of what you describe.

Wooooahhhhhh. The only person on the team that said to be a man about it was Clabo. Pretty liberal with the use of "all the employees."

And thus, another one of my points is proven. Semantics are bulletproof defenses for Incognito, but totally damning for Martin.

The players rallied behind Incognito, Clabo said "be a man", the others just demanded he deal with it to Cog's face or in house or whatever or they suggested he was being deceitful. Do you really think Martin's camp cant take advantage of that?

Nevermind, dont answer, i know what you will say: Yes, its impossible because x, y, and z.

Im not sure how anyone can disagree that this either needs to be totally transparent(forcing Martin's hand) or the team needs to stop putting itself out on a limb(whether you think they are saying the right things or not).

You're all right on this one guys .... Going public was the right thing to do .... it changed the narrative. Now, it's time to shut up and let others outside of the organization see how ridiculous the Ratfink family is.

Hostile work environment, harassment, compounded by the most likely windfall of the workplace realizing that there was a problem and took no action to correct it. I believe the NFL will be sued for the blatant hazing that is to a degree condoned throughout the NFL. This will cause ramifications across the board and the payout will be huge IMO. Let's be clear, I think Martins a whimp and he should slither off into the hole or wherever he came from.

I'll take it a step further, this works into Martins favor in front of a jury. Assuming that Martin understands playing ever again is out, he would want the lawsuit to recoup his money(and then some). The biggest obstacle he had was not bringing it to the attention of the team. Now his agent is saying that he spoke to Ireland, and Martin can say that he didn't say anything to Philbin because he felt there was a group of guys that didn't like him and that this was 'normal' behavior that was accepted in general by the team and the league.

And I do think you may see a thorough non-hazing policy from the NFL come about because of this. Much like the non-bounty policy. I just hope we don't lose draft picks like the Saints did for doing something that is prevalant throughout the league.

Skip Baseless opined this morning, the MIAMI Dolphins locker room is defending Incognito, because they are scared of him. With this new revelation, I wonder what the next excuse for his 'cause' will be.

Tough to prove when 52 other players say there is no issue.

*Incognito went over the line. There is not doubt about that. But that is about hazing, bullying, but the NFL has to discern how much of it actually was happening

*Martin is nothing but a lawsuit to the NFL, not the Miami Dolphins. Martins list better have a hell of alot more than what we know.

*Ireland cant be too much hated if over half of former players and coaches have already stated about Martin not sticking up for himself. He left over a prank played on others as well. How far does that go?

So this ends up in a lawsuit or something bad happens to the Miami organization ala New Orleans Saints. I just dont know how much the league has rules about toughening up a player right now, and I noticed that Shefter doesnt mention what those rules are. The media are so helpful in digesting this after they bring it up. iyiyi

I have a question I would like answered. How did this guy (Martin) slip through the cracks of the background check if everyone says he so weird and introverted? Was he a stand up guy until he signed with the Fins?

Draftnik here, he didn't slip through any cracks he was off of some teams draft boards for being soft.... just as Incoginto was becasue he was a nut job.....Only Miami's GM would put these to on a team and have them play next to each other.

IMO the only way for Martin to save face would be to come out with a statement something like this:

"I want to set the record straight. A lot has been said on my behalf while I was in a facility getting treatment for some emotional issues. I was not bullied. I had an emotional breakdown with the grind of the NFL life style. I will get better and continue my dream and try to make it in the NFL. I am sorry for the trouble I have cause the Miami Dolphins organization, the fans, the NFL, and most importantly my friend Ritchie Incognito. Those speaking out on my behalf were inaccurate. There were times when teammates were extremely tough on me, but it wasn't any different than any other player. they only wanted the best for me."

This would not only give Martin a tiny chance of gaining some respect back but would vindicate the Fins and Incognito

Not surprised to hear this claim since many players have spoken out in support of Incognito. Surprised that Hartline and Clabo were not also identified as bullies.

After the interviews, yesterday, What do you want to bet it is; Hartline, Clabo, & Ryan T that are named.

Basically.

Now begins the decision of taking money over self-respect.

Kinda like the last 3 years of the commie in chief proclaiming "If you like your health insurance, you can keep it. Period."? Some people seen this defeat coming, despite all the evidence available. But I digress.

The media is slowly examining their initial reaction. Some with their agendas won't let go, but voices are growing that the problem might be from the quiet one in the case. Jon Martin.

As Ricky Williams said last night on HLN with Dr. Drew. After all the sensationalism, the truth is the NFL isn't for anyone.

I'm simply stating you misrepresented what happened. If you are going to use the term all employees or "all..." then make sure they all said/did it.

I said "other employees". Again, semantics.

Narratives dont require specifics. Or else people wouldnt be pushing the "Martin wants to get rich!" angle.
