NFL.com: McCoy is the future of the NFL

this is EXACTLY why mccoy is the right guy.

what i have been saying for months now - get a guy who knows how to use the roster he is given and can mold it the right way, toward its strengths. to WIN NOW.

at least Chud has credentials running one of the best offenses in football last year with a rookie qb. Denver could barely put up 10 points a game

he won 6 in a row and went to the 2nd round of the playoffs with a guy most pundits around the league projected as a FB as his starting QB

Well if you like John Fox and would hire him and you like Dan Henning and would hire him then I think McCoy makes sense. 10 of his 12 seasons in the NFL were spent on John Fox's staff and from 2002-2006 he was on the same offensive staff as Dan Henning most recently as his QB coach...and we all know how good Henning was at developing QBs. Those two would be McCoy's greatest influences as a coach.

Wildcat, zone option read...all a fad in the NFL. I'm looking forward to what he does with the Dolphins...I can't lose here...he's Ireland's pick if he fails Ireland fails and is gone. If he wins well then we got a coach.

when all you need is one score a game, thats not that difficult

23rd ranked offense in the league in terms of yards. 25th in points. Not impressed with his ability to adapt.

Honestly, the wins were that d and 60 yard fg's. Offense had little to do with it

His QB was Tim Tebow.

except Chud ran a top 1/3 offense and McCoy a bottom 1/3 offense in the league

Miami had a better offense last year than Denver. I am unimpressed. He "adapted" to run one of the most boring and least productive offenses in the NFL.

Eh you compare this to the article that the one dude wrote about the Dolphins three choices all being awful....who cares either way?

Now let's just say you're a team with a player at that position whose skills are a little different than your standard passer? (Like Robert Griffin III, when he gets selected in April.) Who are you going to want to be your head coach? Someone who you're confident can develop them so you're not throwing money away for three seasons as your team tries to find a happy medium between their talent and your system. How many times do you have to watch the ups and downs of Mark Sanchez , Chad Henne , Sam Bradford , Tarvaris Jackson , Colt McCoy, or Kevin Kolb to realize how valuable that is?

LOL, I dunno about that but either way, I find very interesting the QBs he chose to group together with the inference that they're shaky with some potential upside and maybe salvageable under certain conditions. I'd say it's an appropriate group that most objective fans and NFL personnel can't really take too much issue with. :idk:

Great post great article!!! Lets get this guy and finally do something right in sofla!!!

I'm sure the Green Bay fans said the same thing when they hired the guy who ran the 32nd ranked offense in the league the year before. I'm sure you'd jump at the chance to hire Mike McCarthy now though.
