NFL.com: McCoy is the future of the NFL

except Chud ran a top 1/3 offense and McCoy a bottom 1/3 offense in the league

Miami had a better offense last year than Denver. I am unimpressed. He "adapted" to run one of the most boring and least productive offenses in the NFL.

yeah but chud had a true duel threat qb who could absolutely beat you with his arm...a much better pure passer...kills me that people on here didn't realize last predraft how much of a duel threat legitimate passing qb cam newton was...kills me

tim tebow will never ever be the passer that cam newton is...never

i give chud credit for playin to cams strengths sure but cams strengths were in both phases of offense...tebows are not...nor will they be...unless he becomes a much more consistent passer

and thats why i don't get why everyone wants to put this mccoy guy on a pedestal for playin the game in a way that best fits tebows skills...ie limiting his passing as much as possible going run heavy and going against the grain when there's 9 in the box to one on one looks on the outside to produce in the passing game...its a FREAKIN NO BRAINER

I can't wait until McCoy is hired so that all the idiot fans on this site will either kill themselves or quit following the Dolphins.

The Broncos made the playoffs because he adapted an offense that fit Tebow's limited skills. It was "boring" because Tebow is not the type of QB to have an exciting passing game with. Chud had Newton, McCoy had Tebow, not exactly the same type of player to adapt an offense to.

I guess if he can make Tebow into a winner with his pathetic passing skills, he should be able to take Matt Moore or Flynn and turn them into the second coming of Brady..

I must say in all seriousness...Nublar is spot on. If this guy is really adaptable..he does have some Shula traits.

They desperately want to put McCoy on a pedestal because they desperately want to have hope for the future of this organization... When there clearly is very little.

Running with a QB who can't throw the ball worth ****, and still ending up with one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Quite the adaption that is. Loser head coach candidate for a loser franchise. And many of the loser fans eat it up. Homerism at its finest.

I just do not get the blanket assumption that just because something was once that it is the way it will always be. People dumped on Fisher because of the 6 playoff appearances in 16 years thing. People are assuming that Philbin is more qualified and that if he got the job, it automatically means Matt Flynn is coming too and that the Dolphins offense is going to be just as successful as the Packers offense. It does not work that way.

McCoy seems like a very bright guy with genuine leadership qualities. That is more important than having a high ranked offense from a statistical standpoint. People really need to look at the bigger picture. Failing to see more than just what is right in front of your feet is asinine. How many of you thought Mike Tomlin was a good choice back in 2007? There are no guarantees in anything. None of you have any idea who would actually work out the best because only time can prove that out. Quit the knee-jerk reactionary crap and just let it play out. So many of you are so quick to just dismiss anyone simply because they aren't your personal choice, even if your personal choice is your personal choice for reasons you cannot even provide.

If people want to see "adaptability", look at the difference in the offense from 2009 to 2011. Being a #7 ranked passing team with Kyle Orton, and then being s #1 ranked rushing offense with Tebow - I'd say that's a pretty dynamic OC. No idea how he will be as a HC, but you have be a real football idiot if you cant understand why people think he was a good OC.

Post of the day. The lack of football knowledge on this board is ****ing astonishing.

so mike mccoy and all his adaptations comes here...what adaptations can he make to matt moore game plan wise to make him a better qb??? he can't run him to contact like the broncs did with tebow he'll never hold up physically...so drop it on me fellas...what does your crystal ball see adaptation wise to make moore better than he is???

i'm all ears...cause imo what he did with kyle orton prior to the switch is more reflective of a matt moore pocket passer qb and well orton sucked...

by the way bill belichick always figures out qbs cryptonite over time...he was the one that broke the mold on henne that he couldn't handle shell coverages...he broke the mold on tebow in the playoff game with what they did to limit the run and make tebow beat them with his arm which he couldn't do and that mccoy had no answer for...

and the nfl...she's a copycat league so expect to see a lot more of what beli did against tebow coming...til he shows he can take 8 yard gains with his arm all the way down the field

So he had a running quarterback that could barely throw so he ran an offense fit for a running quarterback that could barely throw. I would think he would be a ****ing moron not to, and it's not like he lit it up w/ said offense. In fact it pretty much sucked. I don't understand why this makes mccoy a genius.
