NFL.com: McCoy is the future of the NFL

Well if you like John Fox and would hire him and you like Dan Henning and would hire him then I think McCoy makes sense. 10 of his 12 seasons in the NFL were spent on John Fox's staff and from 2002-2006 he was on the same offensive staff as Dan Henning most recently as his QB coach...and we all know how good Henning was at developing QBs. Those two would be McCoy's greatest influences as a coach.

Wildcat, zone option read...all a fad in the NFL. I'm looking forward to what he does with the Dolphins...I can't lose here...he's Ireland's pick if he fails Ireland fails and is gone. If he wins well then we got a coach.

ah, the ever popular "guilt by association" deal.

Wait, what?

A member of the media wrote an article that is NOT blasting all of the Dolphins candidates?

Honestly, I will accept McCoy because of the respect he gets. Of the NFL circles, coaches included, nobody has a bad thing to say about him. If he's not Miami's head coach, he'll be a head coach somewhere soon. He is well-respected and a leader. He takes responsibility for his actions. A lot of people didn't like DaBoll, but the guy made Matt Moore and Chad Henne before the injury look at least like respectable quarterbacks.

Well you can say they are negative but I can just as easily note that they were not being negative but were being correct in their assessment. If we have had garbage the last decade and we have called it garbage from the beginning, are we just negative nellies or were we just correct the whole time. Compare that with the group who lauds every hire and ended up being wrong. Now who would you argue is more of the realist?

You never know how things will turn out but that doesn't preclude you from having an opinion based on what information you have. There's that chance that nick foles may become a pro bowl qb but that possibility doesn't prevent me from rationally criticizing the choice if we draft him at nine

so harry bagpipe was on here bashing nick saban when he became the HC? Or were you one of many who thought he was the second coming?

These idiots in the media don't know what the hell they're talking about. "Wave of the Future"? Give me a ****ing break! Don Shula was doing this 30-40 years ago going from a power running game in the early 70s, to an option team in the early 80s with WoodStrock, to a pass-only, **** the run team with Marino.

so your against chudszinski? just checking to see what the great carmac thinks.

I can't wait until McCoy is hired so that all the idiot fans on this site will either kill themselves or quit following the Dolphins.

I dont even think they are dolphin fans. I think they are just people who like to biotch all day and pretend they are finfans. as far as i am concerned, dont buy tickets...see if i care. I would rather have 20000 jumpin fans than 70000 fans who look like they are melting in their seat. just go to the beach and fogedaboudit!

I won't buy tickets actually. Ross doesn't deserve my money.

Its not about ross, its about the dolphins. ross will get money regaurdless. its called collective redistribution. if miami cannot get fans into the stands, the league will simply move to a market that will.

which is what I would like to see. cus i think miami is a dead town when it comes to pro football. dan marino couldnt fill the stands half the time.

Honestly, the more i learn about the guy the less impressed I am. Hopefully, the fins go with Philbin.

Wait. What?

If McCoy is hired I can see us selling the farm for a trade up for RG3.

great article, even though i would love philbin, because he would bring with a good staff, but he is in his mid 50's, and you don't know how long he would want to coach. At least with mccoy you know he will stick around for a while, of course if does a good job, and you don't have to worry about him wanting to resign because he is old.

any idea on who will mccoy will bring in if he is hired

i do hope he keeps daboll on the staff, he did good things with matt moore, both of them together could some things, plus wasn't moore with mccoy when they were carolina?
