NFL.com: McCoy is the future of the NFL

His QB was Tim Tebow.
correct. For some reason that offense and Teblow are getting credit for that win streak rather than the defense and kicker

Here are the amount of points put up in that streak

38 Oakland= good
17 KC= bad
17 Jets= bad
16 in OT SD= bad
35 Minnesota= good
13 Chicago= bad

so 6 game win streak with 4 of those games under 20....again, unimpressed. That d won them the games

I'm sure the Green Bay fans said the same thing when they hired the guy who ran the 32nd ranked offense in the league the year before. I'm sure you'd jump at the chance to hire Mike McCarthy now though.

eh. McCarthy was a proven OC doing a great job with the Saints and even winning NFL assistant of the year while there. He did have a bad year with a rookie Alex Smith before he got hired in GB.

McCoy has no resume other than Denver, and its not a good one there.

WE NEED McCoy Im telling you guys the winds of change are finally upon us. . . lets get this over with end the search and sign McCoy and start looking towards the draft!

except Chud ran a top 1/3 offense and McCoy a bottom 1/3 offense in the league

Miami had a better offense last year than Denver. I am unimpressed. He "adapted" to run one of the most boring and least productive offenses in the NFL.
The Broncos made the playoffs because he adapted an offense that fit Tebow's limited skills. It was "boring" because Tebow is not the type of QB to have an exciting passing game with. Chud had Newton, McCoy had Tebow, not exactly the same type of player to adapt an offense to.

he won 6 in a row and went to the 2nd round of the playoffs with a guy most pundits around the league projected as a FB as his starting QB

an 8-8 team that was lucky to even make the playoffs

25th in points scored
23rd in total yards
31st in passing yards...bring that juggernaut offense to Miami

Well if you like John Fox and would hire him and you like Dan Henning and would hire him then I think McCoy makes sense. 10 of his 12 seasons in the NFL were spent on John Fox's staff and from 2002-2006 he was on the same offensive staff as Dan Henning most recently as his QB coach...and we all know how good Henning was at developing QBs. Those two would be McCoy's greatest influences as a coach.

Wildcat, zone option read...all a fad in the NFL. I'm looking forward to what he does with the Dolphins...I can't lose here...he's Ireland's pick if he fails Ireland fails and is gone. If he wins well then we got a coach.

The fact that McCoy worked directly under Henning for so long is a really scary thought as he definitely picked up some of his characteristics and philosophies... Which all suck. Look, if we hire the guy I'll obviously root for him and give him a chance, but unlike some on this board I DO let the facts get in the way of my opinion.
The only positive to me is that if we get McCoy we will probably make a run at RG3 which IMO would be a great move.

Of course. Completely different

However, this talk of about adapting amuses me. If they adapted and were successful it would be 1 thing. They adapted and were a bottom 10 offense in the NFL- that's another thing.

On most teams thats a losing season and a top 10 pick, but that kicker and especially defense came to play.

well... the article made me feel a tad better. what can I say... I don't know enough about the guy. Nice to read something positive for a change.

There was literally no way that Denver was going to have an effective pass offense with Tebow. No way. He flat out can't throw on a three step drop and even on his best days he's not good in the pocket.

If anything, it's a credit to McCoy that that offense managed to just run it down the throats of teams that were putting 8 or 9 guys in the box with no fear whatsoever of Tebow.

wow...he played to tim tebows strengths says the fantasy guru for nfl.com....tough thing to do i guess after seeing all those one hoppers from tebow in camp...there's nothing special about what he did with tebow...the broncos should have been playin that kind of game with tebow from the moment they drafted him

this is nothing to get overjoyed about...he played to his strengths...any oc worth his salt would have...

we'll see...i wonder what the plan is with matt moore...good luck

I like that he can be adaptable because he will probably have too. At this stage pickings are getting slim, and every coaching candidate left has his pros and cons.

Don Shula adapted his offense to fit his stars. Csonka n the 70's, Marino in the 80-90's. If McCoy can find the best offense for Moore to be the most effective, then this may work.
Uh-oh, the comparison of McCoy and Shula came up. "A young Don Shula???" lol

You cant explain everything to everybody.

A wiseman once said dont argue with fools casue people from the outside cant tell who is who......

I want this coaching search to be over with. Most of these guys are relative unknowns or newbies.
Just pick somebody and get on with it.
Philbin, McCoy...just flip a coin.
