NFL.com: McCoy is the future of the NFL

Not sure if this was said already, saw the negative comments right away (it only takes 1 or 2 posts to get the first one) and had to go to the last page

When will people stop judging how a guy will fair as a HEAD COACH based off how he performed as a Coordinator? They are completely different, i see people listing stats about how bad the Broncos offense was blah blah, last time I checked McCoy is interviewing for the HC position not to be the OC, Last time i checked McCoy would not be working with a QB that struggles to throw a 7 yard out pattern

Mike Nolan, Steve Spagnuolo, great Defensive Coordinators, both failed as a HC

The head coach is not going to be calling the offensive plays, sure he will have some input and contribute to the overall gameplan and use of his players, but when it comes to Sunday's it is his job to LEAD the team and be an in game situation manager who can make a difference

A common question is "how many wins can truly be attributed to a Head Coach?" the real question is "How many losses can truly be attributed to a Head Coach"

As we saw with Sparano his in game management or lack their of, cost the Dolphins a good amount of games over his tenure, between taking his foot off the gas, wasting timeouts, using timeouts that benefit the other team (Saints), allowing Reggie run straight dive plays into the O-Line over and over again and using Daniel Thomas on stretch plays

A true Head Coach, a true LEADer adjusts to their players strengths and motivates them to believe in their master plan, if McCoy can innovate and use the Dolphins roster in a way that maximizes its talents, then i am all for it, but to boo and rip the (potential) hire because of where his offense under Tim Tebow ranked is not doing justice to the situation

so mike mccoy and all his adaptations comes here...what adaptations can he make to matt moore game plan wise to make him a better qb??? he can't run him to contact like the broncs did with tebow he'll never hold up physically...so drop it on me fellas...what does your crystal ball see adaptation wise to make moore better than he is???

i'm all ears...cause imo what he did with kyle orton prior to the switch is more reflective of a matt moore pocket passer qb and well orton sucked...

If someone here knew that, they would be up for a HC'in job in the NFL!

he won 6 in a row and went to the 2nd round of the playoffs with a guy most pundits around the league projected as a FB as his starting QB

The Broncos also got kinda lucky to make it to the playoffs thanks to a few teams they needed to lose. I really think the main reason Miami wants to hire McCoy is because he is relatively young (young Shula) Ross is just being stubborn. But if the man isnt qualifed dont give him a job when he hasnt earned it or doesnt deserve it (when I say that I mean, his passing offense stats have always been pretty average and kind of inconsistent and he didnt win a ton of games). Especially when there are other more qualified Heach coach candidates (Billick has won a superbowl, Chud made Derek Anderson a pro bowl, thats impressive in itself and others)

I live in Carolina and I swear Mike McCoy is Dan Henning part two. Henning also was the OC in Carolina, Fox loves those boring offenses. So if Ross is smart and truly wants an exciting offense then he should know that McCoy is not right for the job, but I think Ross is more set on "ive already said im lookin for a young Shula and McCoy kinda fits that and i need to show the fans that I mean what I say" kind of mentality.

Its not about ross, its about the dolphins. ross will get money regaurdless. its called collective redistribution. if miami cannot get fans into the stands, the league will simply move to a market that will.

which is what I would like to see. cus i think miami is a dead town when it comes to pro football. dan marino couldnt fill the stands half the time.

Stick to talking about what you know, Because if you think Dan Marino couldn't fill the stands half the time you don't have a damn clue what you're talking about. Miami isn't a dead town, it's a smart town. Fans not choosing to spend their money on this sad sack of **** team is smart.

Wow the Tebow legend has created a wave. Mike MCcoy might be a good young coordinator but to rave about his work with the denver offense and tebow is a little shortsighted when you see it was not a very effective offense. 3 points versus the Chiefs, 14 against Buffalo. 6 of denvers wins were by 4 points or less. Denver did not beat one winning team the whole season until the playoffs. In a way MCcoy better hope he gets a head job from this fairly mediocre offense. Next year the broncos unless they improve big time will fall back to the pack and Tebow will be exposed. Tebow is a hard guy to defend to a degree and teams are not used to such a beast at qb but his low seventy rating and less than 50 percent accuracy is not good by any means. If they had lost with those stats we would not be talking about either guy

so your against chudszinski? just checking to see what the great carmac thinks.

Do they teach reading in Crapchester? Where in my post did I mention Chudzinski? My complaint was that coaches adapting their style to fit their personnel is hardly a groundbreaking innovation and that Coach Shula was doing it while McCoy was watching Scooby Doo.

at least Chud has credentials running one of the best offenses in football last year with a rookie qb. Denver could barely put up 10 points a game

The more i go over the big picture, the more i like.Chud. Yes, we would all want a young Don Shula, but he is one.of a kind. Chud seems like the closest thing, IMHO. He has proven able to build a dynamic and explosive offensr capable of building, holding, and reaquiring a lead. He built it around a QB with a non-traditional.skill.set, and installed itin a strike-shortened pre-season. He played to his talents strength and reshuffled the roster to acwuire the pieces he needed to make it work, like Greg Olsen. He has players past and present who devoutly follow him and look up to him. He commands respect, and and motivates. He knows Miami and the distractions/challenges players face down here. By the time he starts to.become the hot name in candidates, we may be hard pressed to get him honestly.

Im all for kicking the tires on Chudzinski. He looks like the type of young coach on which id be.very interested in rolling the dice. What am i missing that Chud isnt being interviewed?

He interviewed for OC last season, and the great Ireland was not impressed (ie he did not want to run the boring 1980's system Ireland wants to draft and acquire players for)
