NFL.com- "Miami's outfit feels directionless. They lack difference-making units..."

Is this about the last 10 years man? We have been a directionless mess for quite a while. Talk is cheap, wins are not. This crap would not be written had we snuck into the playoffs last year. Winning cures this ship. It's all on Philbin and Tannehill this year plain and simple. Playoffs or Bust again. Beat the Pats opening day!

Pittsburgh has great RB's. They can smoke dope, get away with it, and make it just fine to the game! no problem. Greatness!

Ray Rice and now this...NFL is rigged I tell ya.

wow what a joke. No way are the steelers and ravens both better than the Bengals. The bengals are the obvious team to beat in that division. My order from best to worst in the afc is this. Denver, NE, Cincy, Indy, Mia, SD, KC, Balt., Buffalo, Pitt, NYJ, Oak, Houston, Cleveland, Tennessee, and of course, last and most certainly least, Jax.

Yep. Remember the days of Marino where every year the analysts picked us to go to the super bowl? How I miss those days! Even though I can hardly remember them anymore.

Ya and I remember every year not getting there. National media is what it is...sensationalism and click-producing garbage.

You know, I've learned to completely ignore what the hot air bags in the national media say. But if our staff has any kind of gumption at all, they should be posting all this crap incessantly throughout the building. Hell, start off team meetings with this.
But what if it hurts the players' feelings? They may quit and lawyer up against Philbin for posting mean stuff.

Have said it since early last season... no identity...no direction...no leadership...no consistent play-makers....not enough points for and too many against

I haven't seen anything YET in preseason to change ANY of those intangibles...I hope it's because the coaches have decided to wait until the season starts to unveil the team we all have been wanting

You can make the exact same argument about 50-60% of the teams in this league. That isn't the gripe. This isn't a debate as to whether the Phins are an elite team. Rather, taking offense at claiming the team is a doormat, because that's what the article is saying.
The team was 8-8 last yr and have improved. In what alternate universe does that make them a lottery team?

Last year his article on us was "don't buy the hype". to which my reply was what hype? Nobody was talking about us. nobody.

I see direction all over except for LB which is our weak link. We might not be great yet but I do see direction. We definitely have more depth this year than we've had in a long time.

-Getting guys with leadership qualities who go about their business.
-On defensive line it is all about high motor guys getting after the QB.
-Secondary is filled with guys who make plays on ball. (Finnegan, Davis, Delmas)
-Offensive line is coming along with zone blocking scheme.
-RB's who can catch out of backfield and block
-WR's who run crisp routes and are reliable pass catchers.
-TE's are guys who can create mismatches.

If you dont see direction with just the O alone from 2 years ago to today I dont know how to help you

I am hoping we can look back at this and laugh our asses off.

I read "outfit" and thought -- uniforms? Damn fashion police.

The whole issue is stupid. Miami plays the Patriots week one and I think if you are ever going to go through a preseason showing nothing this is the time. Lets wait a few games before we consider anything.

If only we had sparano back we would have direction!

Or Cameron...or wanny

Give me a break

Gregg Rosenthal is another reporter who probably gets a retainer from the cheese factory to write negative material about Miami. This is a deliberate attempt to get the fanbase agitated by calling the team directionless. Miami Dolphin fans need to understand that team spirit is actually very good and we are well placed to be very competitive this season. The team has a lot more talent on the roster than at any time in the past 15 years.
As Dolphin Dave points out - "the Dolphins beat the 2,3,4,6,7, 9 teams on the list last season". This article was written with the intent of being disruptive.
