NFL.com- video of top 10 nfl rookies in 2008

he's an offensive lineman....they are never going to get the full credit they deserve.

notice how the defensive rookie of the year was listed behind 6 offensive skill position players....go figure.

Flacco is the one that bugs me. He didn't lose games for them, that's admirable. his rookie campaign was definately a success. but did anyone have more help? they ran the ball more than any team in the league and had a dominant defense...most QB's succeed in those circumstances. Matt Ryan had a ton of help from his running game too...but he at least provided big plays, and Atlanta had to score more points to win than the Ravens did. Flacco should have been down around #10 but he's a QB, so he gets all the credit (see the 'first rookie qb to win 2 playoff games' tag)

If I had to put those 10 in order, my list goes:

1. Chris Johnson
2. Ryan Clady
3. Matt Ryan
4. Jake Long
5. Steve Slaton
6. Jerrod Mayo
7. D.Jackson
8. Eddie Royal
9. Matt Forte
10. Joe Flacco

I think they meant top 10 in terms or Ratings ... as in TV Ratings. The electric and ultra-fast ECU running back snuck in there, otherwise it's QB's at the top followed by the RB's .... in the order of their glamour for TV. Let's face it, the game may be won in the trenches, but the TV Ratings aren't balooned by the trench monsters. Sure, we'll get 5 to 10 looks at a monster NT, but then we'll get 50 looks at the QB, 30 looks at the RB, and if they even focus on the lines at all it will be a DE that gets the camera time in most cases. I enjoy the NFL Network and ESPN, but neither really rates to ability, they rate for ratings ... especially that horrid NFL Network Top 10 thing that is usually skewed.
