Oh, there is no way that any team who has evaluated him hasn’t had that discussion. The only way to buck that trend is for him to show it wherever and whenever he gets his chance.
That’s the thing, who’s gonna bite the bullet, accept everything that comes with taking him, and give him that chance?

He’s not good enough for me to put my livelihood and family on the line to do it, yet

You know, my biggest concern/wonder is whether he’s coachable.

Having never played for anyone but his dad and clearly needing development, will he accept that? I think that’s the biggest question mark. That, and I wonder if anyone feels they got a full and honest evaluation on him
Also, the rumors of him playing Settlers of Catan during meetings with some teams is definitely NOT helping his cause. It indicates that he does need to be humbled a little bit if he is truly going to grow into a franchise QB.

Watts is definitely in the running if he makes it to 48. Weaver could use a ball hawk at safety. On paper, I think corner is a bigger need.
The top OT remaining are.

Ersery
Trapilo
Grant
Belton
Williams

They better draft Ersery because I dont have a lot of faith in the rest of those players to start at LT.

I like Grant moving to OG though.
If Miami doesn't feel comfortable with Paul at LT, Grier should trade up for Ersery. I actually thought he had a chance to go at the end of round 1.

If they are comfortable with Paul, a guard should be there at 48. My preference is probably Wilson. But there are a few I like.

Grant and Benton are two I like for 98.

I am torn. We need guard to make this offense work especially with Paul at tackle but there could be some great prospects at safety and corner. I really want to load up on defense this draft and get a good guard.

That’s just a foolish talking point, IMO.

If they didn’t like his personality, fine, but to pass on a QB when you need a QB because his dad is flashy is nonsense, to me.
His talent doesn't outshine the distraction. There's just nothing special about him. I wish him well, but don't think he's a franchise QB.

Those should be good lineman, although Tate Ratledge has an odd build.....6-6" tall with 32" arms which makes him play over his toes and lunge at bit more than I would like....

You can pretty easily justify Amos and Johnson over Watts, but I think that's it at CB, and I do view Watts as a player who makes a bigger impact than any of the CB's, including Amos and Johnson.

He's a ball hawk, and he's dangerous after the interception - 21 yards per interception return (9 INT's, 273 yards, 1 TD in the last two seasons). And, he's been sound - 0 TD's allowed in 2024 and a 30.1 passer rating allowed.

To me, those guys don't come along every draft. Safety can be hard to project, but I really love Watts.

I expect Pitt to trade up for Milroe today.
Well I don't care when we get Gabriel, UFA is fine, but we gotta have that guy. When it comes to QB and fit, the value chart means nothing. If this regime is to continue, they need a better backup QB plan.
I would be thrilled if Pitt took Milroe, although Gabriel doesn't seem like their best fit. Someone out there wants him though.

100% agree
Hey Brad, I saw that Watts is ranked as 3rd round grade by Jeremiah of NFLN. What are your thoughts. I'd certainly wouldn't complain if Miami took him at #48. I just feel like maybe I've over valued him by one round.

Secondly what are your thoughts on Nohl Williams? The CB from California.

My favorites for Day 2:

RB - Treveyon Henderson
WR - Luther Burden, Jaylin Noel, Jayden Higgins, Tre Harris
TE - Elijah Arroyo, Terrance Ferguson
OL - Jared Wilson, Aireontae Ersery, Jonah Savaiinaea, Miles Frazier
DL/Edge - Nic Scourton, Bradyn Swinson, TJ Sanders, Josh Farmer
LB - Carson Schwesinger
DB - Shavon Revel, Darien Porter, Xavier Watts
