NFL Draft Day 2 best available

Ersery looked like a beast in the few snaps I saw of him at LG during Senior Bowl practices, I think he could be dominant at OG.
I agree. In one of the games I saw him play, he started at LT and then moved over to LG after an injury. The kid is a pile driver in the run game, he moves people.

If we want Amos we might have to trade up with the Bears at 41. There are several DB needy teams between 42 and 47.

They have picks 39 and 41 so they might not mind trading down from 41.

It would cost us pick 116 and one of our 7ths.

At least he should be an immediate starter at a position of need.

Wyatt Milum is a guy Miami has shown some interest in. He's another of those OT to OG converts. He's a mountainous man with a mean streak to match.

He's also one of the most instinctual and aware Olineman in this years class. Exactly the kind of player Miami needs next to Paul. I love the kid. But not sure #48 is the spot you would take him. Jared Wilson seems more likely. But he's a Center. Miami already has their starter. Question is, do they take him anyway?

If we are not crazy about our options at 48 I would consider trading down for more draft capital but Grier rarely seems to do that.

I am hoping somebody falls to us unexpectedly at a position of need.

I like Milum but 48 might be a reach for him. Maybe we could trade up from 98 for an OG, a trade up at that part of the draft wont cost much.

Strengths

  • Fundamentally sound and understands blocking angles, using body positioning to his advantage. Disciplined awareness and good intelligence.
  • Is a wall that has not allowed a sack in the past two seasons. When he plants his feet and sets his base, defenders move backward before they move him. The biggest strength is his hands.
  • Awareness is above-average for his limited experience. Sells trap block and can turn to seal. Fluid getting to and adjust at the second level.
  • His drop back is smooth, in control, and has small slides to keep him in position.
  • Best on the outside because of his height and athleticism, but is capable of blocking on the move.
  • Lone concern is handling the superquick NFL edge rusher. Foot speed and quickness are very good, but not elite.
  • His football IQ is very solid. He understands blitz packages before they happen, and he responds to them at a very high level.
  • Excellent almost in run blocking.

Weaknesses

  • Attacks when necessary, though he won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending.
  • Stops his feet after initial contact, relying on length but allowing the defender to get the corner or spin inside.
  • Susceptible to speed rushers. Has only average quickness off the snap and doesn't possess the acceleration or arm length to corral defenders once they cross his face.
  • Needs to prove his worth in a straight-ahead running game.
We see him as a quality prospect, that won't fall any further than the middle of the second round.

I'd love to see Miami take him and move him to guard.

This is my personal preference @ # 48. He'd give Miami the final piece in a truly dominant run stuffing Dline Unit. This is the guy I'd pound the table for in round two. I'm doubling down on dominance. I want to kick the living snot out of offenses. And Alfred Collins helps in that regard. #LFGD

Would rather have Sanders in Collins position as Collins seems to repetitive of a skill set to Grant. We could use more interior pass rush juice.

Tough decision could be coming up at 48 with multiple solid players available at positions of need.

Amos, Emmanwori and Ersery are my top picks at 48.
Nice. I'd add Porter, Watts, TJ Sanders and Wilson from Georgia. I was really, really hoping the corner Buffalo took would sneak into the 2nd round.

Miami's main competition made a great pick there IMO. Can't control what other teams do, but that 4.28 speed had Hill and Waddle on mind.

Collins could play the 5 tech a bit even at that weight, it would be one hell of a run defense.
