NFL DRAFT & RUMORS MEGATHREAD

I'm dubious that a guy that has a lower RAS score than Eichenberg is a glove fit for us at guard, but I'll still take an o-lineman over a CB in round 1. I think Zabel is going to be a much better Guard than Banks though.
Banks has never played OG. So there could be a learning curve or longer than expected transition to a new position. Although Texas ran a similar offensive line system to Miami, Banks could potentially excel, once he gets acclimated to the OG positions. Banks having to transition to OG, lies the potential for failure and hence the reluctance, to taking him at 13.

RAS is skewed for banks as it’s grading him as an OT and anything below 6-6 gets dinged. Banks is on the shorter side for a tackle so he received a 4.25 grade in that area.

Eich’s issue isn’t athleticism though, it’s short arms with small hands and the balance of if Mike Gesicki and a new born baby deer had a kid. Banks doesn’t have balance issues, has bigger hands and longer arms. His wingspan is also almost 6 inches wider than Eich’s as well.

I think the trading down and still getting zabel is while it sounds good not only risky but unfounded. That said if banks gets by the bears at 10 I’d bet my house note he’s a dolphin.

Miami needs Patrick Paul insurance in addition to a plug and play starter at left guard. Just don’t be expecting elite at either. Safe is the word.
I agree, the most likely pick is Banks at 13, after that its Starks at 13. Thats just what I think Grier will do.

You can’t tell me how important RAS score is to Miami’s scheme and then use a guy (Eichenberg) who has a good RAS score but is a complete bust. RAS score isn’t the end all be all. Watch how well Banks gets to the second level and tell me you see any similarities between Eichenberg and Banks.

That’s overrated. Zach martin never played guard in college either.

You rate them for where they project best in the pros.

I think banks left tackle prospects are pretty similar to his left guard ones in the pros. Not special.

Ok. But I'm not sure Banks is in the same stratosphere as Martin was.
