Ditka said that he used to teach it in practice and they never used it, but it seems that Belichick taught the same thing and Willie picked up on it and did it on his own.

You just know that if Larry Chester flops down on the floor in the fourth quarter against the pats to give us a timeout, that the refs will probably eject chester, hit us for a 15 yard penalty, and fine Wanny 100 thousand bucks.

 ;)

I think everyone will do it now.. The league just opened a can of fat juicy nightcrawlers by not penalizing that...

The NFL will stand for National Futbol League pretty soon..

Thanks McGinest! :\

The only place that play is a big deal is around here. Look, if McGinnest fakes an injury that means he is out for at least a play. The guy who replaced a leader on defense, a cagey veteran and an all around athlete was Matt Chatham. Do you guys know who he is? Not many people do. He is a backup. A good back up but nothing like a verean stater. The ball is still on the freakin one yard line. Willie is to much of a pro to abandon his position at a CRITICAL time to a back up. Colts should have scored against our weakend D and McGinnest would not have come back.

Trash the Colts for not gaining a yard on 4 downs.

Hey Troll - Maybe you should go give advice to someone who gives a crap what you say. You know it was BS, and I'm sure there are plenty of places that agree it IS a big deal.

Hey 1972.....Name me another place it is a big deal. Any comment to my post other than just to call me a troll. Did it make too much sense.

What a stupid name....1972...an 18yr old back then would be joining the AARP now. Talk about livin off past glory.

It is obviously a big deal to Mike Ditka, he made it the play of the week.

It was cheap, but indy blew the game, no call kept them from winning.

New England made the only play they could make.....hit a running back when you have their blockers out numbered 8 to 6.

I kind of think the difference between losing McGinnest for a play and getting a free timeout, a free change of players near the goal line(McGinnest for Chatham wasnt the only change), and stopping the Colts hurry up offense kind of balances out unfavorably in the direction of the cheating team.

You would think so.......................

Hey mr. master Troll, have you ever tried getting banned from the Patties sites?

I definitely trash the Colts for their decision-making on those 4 downs. Hell, I could have gotten them into the endzone. I place the blame on Peyton Manning and their coaching staff for screwing the pooch at the end.

But I was hella p*ssed when I saw McGinest and Ty Law(?) acting like they were hurt. They weren't fooling anyone. Obviously, I had a LARGE vested interest in the Colts winning that game. So the feelings are amplified.

McGinest didn't do anything against the rules. But it p*ssed me off that I knew he was faking.......and then he was taking off his helmet and running like Carl Lewis 2 plays later. Now THAT makes me mad. :fire:

But again, he didn't break any rules. And if it were my team doing the faking.....I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it. But at least have the decency to continue acting at least a LITTLE bit injured, so you don't look like a cheater.

Nah, cant find any Patriots sites. It's not like I post porn or anything to get banned. They just get tired of my opinions and ban me. The only Pats board I know right now is the KFFL ones.

But Muck..wouldnt what he did fall under unsportsmanlike conduct? The chances of something like that being called are very slim, but I find it amazing to believe that no rules were broken.

Why in the hell didnt Indy run 4 times? Why didnt they try any other runners? A QB sneak? Edgerin svcks at goal line situations, why keep him in when they have the other Ricky Williams and Mungro or whoever?

OK NE Matt (very creative name, did it take you a long time to think that one up?). First off, let me say that it was initially very difficult to respond to such a brilliant post. Once I figured out what a "verean stater" was, I was blown away by your fantastic arguments.

It looks like your main point was that "Willie was to (sic) much of a pro to abandon his position at a CRITICAL time to a backup." But the fact is, that is exactly what he did. It worked out great for him, but you know, and I know, and everyone else knows, that it was BS.

Here's a quote for you: "Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

That being said, good luck on Sunday, and I hope to see you here next week, win or lose, to accept congratulations or eat some crow.

The refs definitely let that one go (the helmet). But it was already Pats ball anyway. So that's no big deal IMO because it doesn't change anything.

But that playcalling at the end was atrocious. The one that really got me was when they hurried back up to the line.....telegraphed the play (bunching up the OL and turning to Edge)......and then ran right into the teeth of the defense. It was a wasted down and burned up a timeout. Just one big clusterf**k.

I visited one of their boards and I felt almost UN-clean after a little while.......they think that they have the 1985 bears, 1979 steelers, and the 88 49ers combined in this patties team......sickening.

1972....The name NE Matt was hung on me a long time ago by some buddies. I am known as that in sports bars in 4 states and the District of Columbia. Yeah, it's pretty simple.

Thanks for pointing out to me I should check my posts before submitting. The wife was yelling get off the computer. My bad.

My point was this whole thread was started because some guy was incredulous that this was the play of the week. I challange any Fin fan to give me a link where anybody in the national media is bemoaning the state of the NFL based on McGinnest leaving due to injury and returning to make the play of the game. ESPN, NFL.com, SI CNN, PFW. Pick your favorite national (hell, even the local rags) NFL media person and tell me where they call it cheating or poor sportsmanship. I have been cruising Colts boards and it is mentioned there but not with the whining, moaning and hand wringing of phin fans. I think your team is good but the fans need to get a grip.

I will be here Sunday eat crow or accept props. I have no problem with that. I don't make point predictions just odds percentages. 60-40 Pats win. See ya Sunday
