NFL network shows the score of the game while its being played. (tape delay)

If all you care about is the final score of the game or who won then you are not really a true fan neways......

i was just as angry too. Here is an idea for NFL network, for the 1st broadcast dont show the score of that team. its really not hard to do.

So I was all excited to watch the fins play the jags on monday night and I was proud that I didn't look online or watch the news and right in the beginning of the 1st quarter they showed the scores of the giants vs panthers game then the dolphins jags game across the bottom of the screen!! So basically there is no point is waiting to watch because nfl network will ruin it and show the final score of the game your watching all throughout the game
:lol::lol: I'm in the same boat as you. I remember getting all excited to see the game. I had intentionally stayed away from FH and ESPN just for this purpose, then caught a glimpse at the score on the bottom right after kickoff....

i watched the game live then watched it again...

how does knowing the score of a preseason game make it not worth watching... its all about seein our guys out there...

I was thinking the same thing. Preseason has nothing to do with the final score. -Well, not nothing. 62-0 doesn't bode well for a scrimmage let alone a preseason game.- Anyways, the point is to see if the old guys look new and if the new guys look good; who's flying around, who's manhandling guys, who's getting off the line, who's competing and who's getting competed on. Score doesn't matter.

Try this the next time you catch the game. When 91 takes the field, open a beer and take a large gulp everytime he gets off the the ball with lightning speed. If you're not feeling happy by the end of his first defensive series then I'll be damned.

that's why god invented duct tape.

Yeah. I didn't use tape but I did tape up something to block the bottom of the screen. Up until a little while into the 3rd qtr I couldn't take the slow pace of the game anymore so I looked the score up on FH and then watched the rest of the game with the screen blocked off.

It's still worth watching but having the element of surprise is fun

Yeah its stupid but you just have to try to discipline yourself not to look down at the pretty flashy graphics moving through your screen lol.

I can realte to the first post, and this is exactly what I did. As much as the little graphics would make me want to look, I wouldn't. Especially when I saw the little Dolphins logo from the corner of my eye, then I would really brace myself from looking.

I did note that for most of the 2nd and 3rd qrtr they took away the stats bar.

I don't get the negative reaction by people who don't understand why we don't want to know the score of a game, even if its preseason. Sure, there is some entertainment value in just being able to observe our guys out there playing, but there is ten times more value when you don't know the score. I enjoy the suspense of not knowing whether or not Pat White is going to lead the team on a TD drive and its obvious that there are many others who feel the same way.

I ran across a similar problem but I just didn't let my eyes focus on the writing at the bottom of the screen. That probably only works if you have a big screen TV because otherwise if it's not far enough into your peripheral vision then you'll be able to read it even if you're not trying to.

But really, I peeked at the final result by the time I got to halftime, because I was writing a review of my thoughts all during the first half and I wanted to be able to check some of the statistics and whatnot and couldn't do that for the first half without seeing the final results.

I didn't have mine covered when I first turned the game on and closed my eyes once they started showing the scores and asked my wife when it was safe to look. After that I taped paper over it. Then, my wife got mad at me for not cleaning the dishes or something and told me the score just to be a bizznitch
