NFL News : The Miami Dolphins Offensive Line "Unimaginably Pathetic"

Barry Who? That's a pathetic clickbait title on the video.

While I personally want a dominant OL (really, who doesn't?),
1: it's not like they haven't invested a lot of high draft picks on the OL in recent years
2: there's a shortage of OL talent in the league. OLinemen don't grow on trees, waiting to be plucked off the waiver wire.

So? you are saying, there is no magical orchard that exits?

Seriously, I agree. At least 288 ( 9 per team) quality OL are needed every yr. It appears finding 260 (5 per team) is a reach.

What was the reason the Chiefs scored 9 points in the Superbowl against the Bucs? The answer is because both Offensive tackles were hurt causing the Chiefs to field a Patchwork Oline. Austin Reiters was their starting center. The Chiefs had a healthy Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce yet could only muster 9 points. While its True the Bucs had a great defense Patrick Maholmes Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are all arguably the best players at their positions.

The following offseason the Chiefs signed Joe Thuney Orlando Brown Jr and Andrew Wylie. They also drafted Creed Humphries and Trey Smith. The oline was fixed and another Superbowl was won this time without Tyreek Hill.

Oline must stay healthy or we already know how the season will end

Tangentially, it shows even top teams have poor quality backups.
Personally, I see Armstead, Williams, and Hunt as easily top third and Jax as mid-tier. "Unimaginably Pathetic?" Embarrassingly wrong. Now, if he wants to discuss backups . . .

This is the problem with the internet. Anyone in this day and age can start a podcast and claim to be an expert on anything they want to. I have no idea who this supposed football expert is. While he certainly has the right to express his opinions, I don’t have to buy into anything he says.

I guess this is the type of thread you get when it is the off season and there is no actual Dolphin news to report. Thankfully the preseason is right around the corner and hopefully these so called internet experts will just disappear once the players are on the field again.

This type of story is better than another article on some 4th rate celebrity & what they wore to a 3rd tier awards show ..... isn't it?

/S?

Barry has just been on a "Glass half empty" type of opinions from how he was last year around this time.

For whatever reason he went from a Gung-ho, "This team is ready for big things" mindset, to a making a 180, and now having more bad Info, or opinions on the Dolphins then good.

I have no idea exactly what article you are referring to. Yet, I have no idea how it would be relevant to anything concerning the Miami Dolphins.

In that regard, I guess you are correct that this thread is at least discussing the Miami Dolphins.

Gotta lighten up a bit 72. He was joking brother.

I know it is not a big revelation, but I have mo clue why the GM and organization seem to feel as though it is of secondary importance. I have been saying this since Grier has taken over. I hope it works out, but why would you build the rest of the team and patch work the O-Line. He's right when he says that you better pray TA stays healthy, but you know he is going to get hurt at an inopportune time and when that happens the cracks in the dam are going to show up.

It’s not a big revelation because it’s not true.

The biggest problem causing Tuas injuries last season wasn't the O line, but his inability to get rid of the ball quickly. That injury against Cincinnati was totally his fault. NOT the O line. The hit against Buffalo the week before was a late hit, and Tua did NOTHING to break his fall. I will never understand why he always locks his arms straight down towards his feet, rather than back to brace himself. Daddy should have spent more time teaching him how to fall than how to throw left handed.
I guess it was not the offense of line's fault the year before when his ribs got broken

The O-Line can certainly use some improvement...but I think 90% of the Offensive lines in the league have the same need for improvement. We are middle of the pack, maybe bottom middle, but we are along way from pathetic.

Well, unless Tua gets sacked at any point of game 1, then the game day thread will erupt into "we suck" and "fire Grier" followed closely by "same old Dolphins".

Honestly, I can't wait! Lets get this show on the road!!!

The o-line FA's we signed have 180+ career starts and some position flexibility, an argument can certainly be made that the OL is in a better state than a year ago from a depth perspective. Fingers crossed injury wise , second year in the same offensive system, light goes on for Ajax and/or Eich, mid to upper mid tier OL play is certainly within reach. Maybe an acorn falls off a tree somewhere during cutdowns, who knows.
