That is as good a scenario as any....but...you don't do it now; unless you save something. You wait until after camp. You never know if that guy you draft is going to break a leg in camp...
 
Cut thigpen! He sucks at returning kicks and if he's lucky he will only play one down the entire game. pathetic keeping him around each season for his "versatility".. time to move on. Yeah thomas hasn't lived up to his 2nd round status but I believe he's better than gillislee as our third back.
 
It is going to be a great battle between both guys, no sure pick here
 
I'd rather cut Gillislee honestly. He's so average it hurts. Thomas just isn't good, but as the 3rd back, sure keep him. We should still draft someone new and cut both their asses

For everyone saying cut Thigpen, yes he sucked last year, but who returns kicks/punts with him gone? No replacement on the roster = keep him until we have one
 
You don't even know what you have in Gillislee, so he isn't going anywhere...

Thomas is being replaced by Moreno, so he will be the odd man out.

I personally would prefer a draft pick over Thigpen, but if they keep him we won't draft anyone.

Im thinking Thomas will be let go, once he started to get those concussions he was done. Philbin is not trying to make the dolphins a running team anyways. Im guess we are going to try to run the no huddle offense again. Moreno and Miller will have to do, neither one will get a great deal of touches. Hopefully Miller, like Philbin said, has more big breakout runs. But it all will depends on how good the Oline is.
 
oooh - NFL Rumors - just writers trying to generate buzz and hits on their page. As previously discussed in other threads there is no reason to cut DT or MG now
 
I would be interested to know how Gilislee possesses more upside than Daniel Thomas. I am actually of the opinion that Thomas doesn't look too bad when running the ball. Statistics aside, I don't think he's that huge a disappointment most here make him out to be.

I wouldn't cut anybody at this point unless there is a good reason, like roster bonus or something. But if I absolutely had to cut one of our RBs today, it would without a doubt be Marcus Thgipen. He's slow and not a good return man. Lamar Miller return kicks and punts and we certainly wouldn't be worse off.
 
i would love to see daniel thomas succeed on another team. however if we have an improved line he could play very good this year given the chance. im hoping he stays.
 
TBH, as critical as I have been of Thomas, if it comes down to both, Thomas is clearly the better back and thus the keeper. They are both garbage however Gilleslee is bigger garbage.
