NFL Sanctions Post Wells Report

I do. It IMO will be more even handed & probably expound on the weak ass conclusion of the Wells report. Appearantly, Martin did not cooperate with the NFLPA.
I believe in the end the Wells report will look slanted. Leaving out so many things that make Martin look bad was a mistake

Agreed the Wells report is slanted. As I said previously on FH, Wells went to school w/ one of JM's parents. More proof that connections and how you use them matter.

There is an article on SI's MMQB website that talks about the NFL using bountygate type punishment against the Dolphins to make the new code of conduct policy a true threat against teams in the future. That would mean a big team fine and multiple high round picks taken away.

Really sucks but it looks like the NFL will use us like they did the Saints.

The bullying scandal is just one giant overreaction by the media and fans. Incognito is a douche, Martin is a *****, and this world is full of people like Incognito and Martin. The only kind of penalties the Dolphins should face is in arbitration or civil court over Martin's contract. This was a player vs player incident, and any punishment should be levied in that respect.

Again, I don't see bountygate style punishment because the club wasn't complicit in the problem and didn't obstruct or hinder the investigation. The main reason NO got drilled was for lying to the league when they got caught and doing bad stuff again, not for targeting players in the first place.

If we get docked for any picks, I will ****ing rage.

the Miami Dolphins allowed a situation to occur that has seriously damaged the reputation of the NFL. My assumption the largest impact is to the female fan segment, but the NFL probably loses some potential earnings because of this. It is important for the NFL image that the Dolphins are punished.

Still don't think we walk away without any punishment. Goodell will take the view that the organisation is accountable to a degree and should have had a better handle on the locker room. It's almost certain we will be fined but maybe docking a pick is, as has been pointed out is unfair...

As has also been pointed out - NO didn't co-operate - we did and that will be decisive I guess. What irks is that NE had an alleged murderer in their locker room who ran with thugs which was well known by the team and as far as we can see little was done - their punishment?

Ross has at least been proactive and no doubt we will champion a new cotton wool and douche wipe in-house anonymous counselling service in case any of our players have a vagina

I doubt the organization is that heavily penalized if at all. The reason the Saints had such heft penalties is because the feeling was that they did not cooperate at all with investigators. Now I'm not going to start the whole debate about Philbin and Ross all over again, but throughout the report both were praised for being cooperative and being men of high character. Hell he even states that Ireland really did nothing wrong.

If he feels like the organization shouldn't be penalized that will be good enough for Goddell

u guys who are saying were gonna get saints like punishment because good ell is gonna make an example...what's he gonna say players aren't allowed to talk or text each other outside of team facilities???

because if you haven't noticed most of the interactions that took place between in cog and martin took place outside of team facilities...is philvin supposed to chaperone players when they go out at night?

The wells report looks slanted FROM THE BEGINNING, and was always going to come out that way.

martin was going to be

BLACKWASHED

into looking like a squeaky-clean victim.

You're right ...except for the part where none of that stuff happened.

.... the fact that there were no league sanctions for this "look the other way so long as he's helping us win," that might well have resulted in a homicide, any penalties levied against the Fins by comparison are unjust, hypocritical and reek of cronyism.

That seals it. We're f@$ked. Hell, they might do it just to umbrella any recent or developing important facts like witnesses suddenly ending up dead... wait...

Im not being sarcastic and thats why Ive ranted with paranoia. Where fortune is concerned, the Dolphins seem to get the long end of the d!$k.

Doubt it, I still think any punishments will be player specific(and coach Turner). I think the franchise will escape having sanctions put on them.

I hope you are correct. I think what may help is that Ross immediately condemned Incognito's actions, etc., vowed to end it, and created a workplace code of conduct committee. He didn't try and deny it or avoid it. He faced it head on, so hopefully the Commish will take that into account, too.
