I live in DC too but I mean for 20 dollars a game with no food or beer seems like a waste to me. Buy the way if you know where there are 10 cent wings in the area let me know. Just playing No but for real.

I was just playin about 10 cent wings : ) I thought maybe you knew somewhere! Where do you live? I live in McLean and work in New Carrolton (ACK!). I was trying to see if there were Dolfans in this area around my age (25) -- hit me up if you go to games or bars around here or know of a good place. Since I can't watch them at home!

i love the ticket, best money ive ever spent

I'm with you...best deal on TV, except for MLB Extra Innings, which is 60 MLB games a week. I love it, I can swtich between games as they give you the "preview" channel and show you which games have team in the "Red Zone" so you can switch and see a lot of the scoring chances in most of the games.

All this talk about the HD TIVO has me real pissed off, so I've got to vent.... Last week on Monday me & The Warden got a new credit card, hoooraahhhh. So I figure I can put the 299 box on it. Well Tuesday my daughter rear-ends some truck (blame it on Katrina) & I had to max out my card just to fix her car. AGGGGGG! She's paying it back but not in time for me to enjoy the football season in HD. The Warden & I are both going back to school so money is super tight.....

If you get the right Customer Retention rep they will allow you to put it on your Bill, and the credits pretty much wipe out most if not all of the $299.

that is the problem with the HD Tivos, they aren't supported by D* anymore so you will not get the software update. It is a little faster if you change it to the Tivo style guide instead of the grid, but other then that it is something we have to deal with. Trust me, it is worth the slow guide to have it ;)

Not supported anymore? I've received firware updates as recently as yesterday... ;)

As someone who has had TIVO for 4 years and recently got a new HD-Tivo, try to stay away from it. There is a new format coming out called MPEG-4, that will replace TIVO and allow for more HD programming. There are rumors that Direct TV will allow current customers to swap out their HD-TIVO for free and be sent an MPEG 4, but I have a hard time believing that one. So if you can hold out for the MPEG 4, if not it is understandable because I have no patience and did not wait myself...Peace

They announced yesterday that all regular HD receivers will be swapped out for free. No announcements on the DVR yet (I don't think they've even finished designing it).

Thank you for that info...That expains that it would be for HD locals, I have them myself already I wonder when it will affect getting new HD channels?

I know the question was not for me, but yeah mine loads real slow and I got the firewall update early this morning myself...

Sunday Ticket is a F-ing shame. They charge waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much money for what you get. I understand the fact that it is nice to watch the game at home but it is still a rip off. I mean for the money you spend per week you could go to a local sports bar and drink and eat damn near

Not in Ice Station Cleveland. To get most bars here to get the Phins on, and keep them on, takes $$$$ and people. “Uhh, sorry guys but I need the set for the Browns game.†I’ve had as many as 6 Phinatics at some places and they still changed the game before the end, sometimes in the 3rd. Unless you can find a bar manager that’s a Phins fan, stick with Sunday Ticket.

It’s just not worth it to go out. Besides, not having to listen to the infernal barking of the Browns fans, man that’s priceless.

you are only getting updates to that software rev that have been out for some time now by Tivo...the HD Tivo is very far behind...

it will never see the major update (i can't remember the number 6.2 I want to say) on that box. This is the update that D* did to the R10 that fixed the slow guide and allowed folders. the HD Tivo will never see it. It is obsolete and they are focusing all there attention on the MPEG-4 boxes.
