NFL Wildcard Tie Breakers

So with 3 games standing, and all these great scenarios and a stealth of football knowledge, how many of you believe we will get in the playoffs?

10-6 were in Bal will lose at least 1
9-7 probably in (need Detroit to beat Balt this week)
8-8- need a Baltimore collapse, or San Diego to finish 8-8 along with us and Baltimore

I'll go a step further in believing that we can actually win a playoff game vs Indy or Cinci.

I have always been under the impression that head to head and division (regardless if the two teams play in the same division or not) were the first two.

Than if it is two teams from the same division it goes to common opponents followed by conference.

The first three inside the division between teams was always: head-to-head; Division record, Conference record
For two teams outside the division the head-to-head is first and Conference record next.
Common opponents always follows conference record.

Yea 9-7 would almost certainly mean you need Baltimore to finish 8-8 (outside of the scenarios I posted above). Still very possible as they have 3 tough games . . . but I would say root HEAVY for Pittsburgh over Cincy this week. You want to draw Cincy back in whatever possible scenarios so that week 17 game they have against the Ravens means something.

If Cincy loses one of the next 2 games . . . Miami is ensured of getting in at 10-6 . . . regardless of what Baltimore does.

Its down to 7 teams for 6 spots.

You can forget about any of those other teams getting to 9 wins. They simply arent good enough. Thats why they are 6-7.

9-7 is 50/50 to get us in at this point. The Ravens simply arent that good and they have 3 very tough games. The key will be Detroit beating them on Monday night. If the Bengals need to win the last week of the season, I dont see how the Ravens go on the road and beat them. Cinci is 6-0 at home and none of those wins have really been close. They dominate at home.

If we lose this Sunday, we are going to need the Lions to beat the Ravens so bad on Monday night. Otherwise we will be looking at hoping we can win the last 2 vs Barfallo and the Jests while the Ravens lose their last 2 games. That is still possible of course, but we really need the Lions to come through on Monday night.

This is again why the Browns loss was so brutal. People dont seem to realize it, but we had a realistic shot of going 10-6 and winning the division if the Browns had beaten the Pats and we beat the Pats on Sunday. All we wouldve needed was to win Sunday and have the Pats lose @ Baltimore. I dont see the Pats losing the last game at home vs. Buffalo. The refs will bail them out in that game if need be.

i would like to point out we are 4-3 on the road
baltimore is 1-5 on the road
out of our final 3 games only 1 is a road game
for baltimore 2 of their last 3 are on the road -being super bowl champs the schedule people obviously helped us a great deal coming down the stretch
so if a 1-5 road team just magically wins 2 straight on the road against playoff caliber teams i will be appalled
