No Gaurantees In Football!!

I think it hard to imagine winning the heisman and not making it to the pro's let alone staying there. BUT hey, nothing is GUARENTEED (did i get it right that time  )

And just because a player doesn't have the tools for the NFL, doesn't mean that they didn't deserve the Heisman. He had a remarkable year and a collection of past winners and sports writers who are likely a lot more knowledgeable than you or I on the college game determined that he was the best player in the country that year.

A ton of other players had remarkable years too, some on very small teams who aren't going to get the respect simply because it was Boise State, or Memphis, or New Mexico St. It's no big shocker that the top team in the nation always has a Heisman trophy candidate up their

Oh really?? Please tell me how these people are soooo much more informed when they see the same game on TV and the same stat sheet!! Most of us are die hard fans and can come to just as logical a conclusion as these "experts". Now if they were speaking on personal relations and how those go in the locker room or front office, then we wouldn't be so smart because those are experience specific. Sean Salsibury and Dan Dierdorf are two "experts" in who prove they don't know jack squat.

yes, meant Crouch, forgot that damn pesky R in his name.

Would have been interesting to see what he could have done if he wouldn't have had those bad knees.

Come on now, why would I get upset over that, the funny thing is that I thought I spell checked it. :rofl3:

Only time I use a spell checker is when I am typing up stuff to send to clients(like pricing and everything) and even then, I use AOL's spellchecker in their email and that thing screws everything up....I put write in a sentence that should have went I wrote instead of I write and it gave me tons of corrections(example: wright, white, etc...)

Josh Heupel (sp? - bad thread for spelling!!) never won the Heisman.

I think the fact that Heupel went in the 7th round and White went undrafted goes to show that Oklahoma QB's are NOT overrated by NFL scouts and GM's and are taken for what they are, borderline NFL talents.
Your right but he was a finalist for some reason I was almost sure he won it but he still was close to winning

I agree that there were others deserving of the award as well – but to say that White wasn’t after the season he had and the numbers he posted, while leading his team to a national title….is a bold statement. I’ll stop short of saying it’s wrong, because it’s opinion, but I can’t agree with that. Also, the players from the smaller schools often put up monster numbers, but the level of competition is and should be a factor when comparing these players to those in the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, etc

I said that they “likely†were. I will give them the nod of myself, but since I don’t know you at all, I left it open that maybe they’re not. I'm not trying to insult your football intelligence, but the past winners who have played the game at the highest level, and sports writers who's job it is to cover the game have my respect for their opinion.

As I put earlier – this isn’t the thread for good spelling!!!

Brad Banks was a runner up 2-3 years ago? and never played another snap
