I've always hated the post draft/winner loser crap. It's always rubbed me wrong how these media elite blowholes like to judge everything by the prism in which they see things. Who are they to say, who "won" and who "lost" These players haven't even put the jersey on yet, and these jerkwads are judging who's gonna be good, and who isn't. The teams picking the players, typically have an idea of what kind of player they're looking for. The people in the media don't know what they playbooks are gonna look like, or exactly what system is going to be put into place for these young players. And to say, for example, Tannehill is a "20" overall talent, but he gets picked at "8" so that makes Miami a "loser" because he was drafted ahead of where the media rates him. Well, If Miami had a pick at "20" then they would pick him then, but they don't. If they want him, then pick 8 it is. It's easy to sit there and say Miami is reaching, but they know what they want. If you don't think they're gonna be there when your next pick comes around, or if you don't think you're gonna be able to work a trade before someone else gets him, you do what you gotta do.
I'd be curious to see, throughout history, how many times the media called someone a "loser" after their draft, and that draft, turn out to be very successful. The media gets to blabber on, without ever having to account for their past mistakes.
........ sorry bout the rant, it just agrivates me.
