Nolan to Falcons

Like everyone else said I thought he was under contract for another year, but seemed like he checked out anyway so :3w: Nolan.

this along with toub re-signing with the bears seems to suggest we've decided on a head coach..

I think this is wishful thinking. I think the team is dragging its feet with a decision. They still haven't had the second round of interviews and it would be shocking for them to plunge into a choice with no one talking the nitty gritty particulars of the job.

I agree. They'll need a retooling of their defensive personnel. Thought Spags would have been a much better fit for them...but then Spags could end up in New Orleans and make that team something fierce.

Defense took a step back this year. Blew many late leads. Sure our conservative offense was part of it, but either way I think it's time for a change.

I could not agree more. Our defense performed poorly in the 4th quarter with the game on the line.

I didn't really like his conservative play calling in the 4th Q. For some reason he'd never call aggressive plays in crunch time.

Wait a minute here, a bit off topic but is Sparano giving Ryan a fistpump to the testicles?! Classic Vaark! I predict in about a years time that's exactly how Ryan will feel when he watches how Sparano runs the offense

Nolan only stuck around in 2011 because Sparano was coming back. He was set to join the Cowboys when it looked like the team was going after Harbaugh. Sparano is gone now and so is Nolan.

Signs seem to be pointing to Mike Zimmer as head coach.

But defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is under contract, and the Dolphins might wait to settle on a head coach before deciding whether to allow Nolan to consider other jobs. Nolan reportedly would be of interest to New Orleans and Atlanta if he’s made available.
