None of you are getting the point

Big names dont always equal big performances. The pats went pretty far with who as their receivers? Welker and.....Sure Brady works there, but the prettiest, most perfect pass has to be caught or it's an incompletion. No style points.

So you're saying you'd be happy with the patriots receiving core without a Brady caliber QB?

Simon has never overpaid for anything in his life.

You guys really thought we would get back what we gave for Marshall. What did he do here that would suggest we could get two second rounders back for him? This was a TRADE.

Matt Flynn is a FREE AGENT with a lot of tread on his tires. But if someone wants to go out and overpay for him, then so be it. It's smarter to overpay for Flynn than it is Marshall. Flynn is a QB. If he hits, you probably got him at a bargain price.

Deflected my point.

The problem isn't the move... its getting that crappy value out of it.

Exactly! !!! Why is everyone trying to overlook the ridiculous value we got for a top wide receiver AND try to justify it if we land Manning? Shoot we could have landed him, Wayne, Garcon, Vjax and half the Saints offense and it doesn't justify this terrible value.

Ok.

You purchase a used car for $10,000.

You drive it for two years and add another 20,000 miles to the vehicle.

Now you're looking to sell the vehicle to someone else.

Let's start with $10,000.

sure do if its still in perfect running condition , and its still looks like it came out of the show room , and esp., if its a one of the higher cars say a vette or benzs ,..there letting us know just how good that car(player ) is by rubbing it in our face and laughing about it .

Never said that. But a #1 probowl reciever for 2 3rd round picks not even in the same year....
I know you didn't, Jason Taylor did. But they did pay two 2nds that weren't in the same year. Getting two 3rds back isn't that big a difference, imo

You didn't say it, but it seems to be the consensus among most of the upset Fin fans: a pair of twos was a steal for us and a pair of threes is an insult. Considering his bad PR since we got him, his salary, and his inability to avoid being a PITA for more than five minutes at a time, we're lucky we got what we did.

Don't forget how badly this team blows. We were 0-7 for ****'s sake. Parcells poisoned the well and it's going to take more than one or two drafts to fix it. Marshall wasn't taking us anywhere. Give Philbin a chance to put players into his system that will actually benefit said system. Marshall only takes himself to Hawaii.

Yeah, you can start at $10,000 but you aren't getting $10,000.

And I'm assuming you think Brandon Marshall hasn't declined at all.

Dude is a headcase. Locker room cancer. One of the top five athletes in the league but he just doesn't have it upstairs.

You're not going to get much for someone that throws teammates under the bus, and is one fart directed in the wrong direction from a 4 game suspension. Since he was traded to Miami he's been stabbed in his hands byhis wife, complained publicly about his QB's, been all about himself, dropped more Td's than he's caught, been diagnosed with a personality dissorder and him and his wife have put 911 on the speed dial. Guys a headcase. The league knows it and no one was going to give up much for him. If he wasn't such a mess Miami could have gotten some more. Hell, if he wasn't such a mess he'd still be a Dolphin

and 2 TEs that are studs and play like WRs and are very very very hard to bring down.
