It's baffling to me why we wouldn't want Chris Johnson, Maurice Drew, or McFadden if the price is right. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas are not that good. Any of those three would be a big upgrade. Tannehill needs all the help he can get.

1. I believe McFadden has yet to play a complete season in his nfl career. He sat out something like 5 games.

2. Unless MoJo just stunk it up in Jax because he didn't care and this would be a breath of fresh air, he hasn't looked great. Will be 29 when season starts and will likel command a 4 year deal for top money.

3. I'd be on board with brining in CJ but he too will command top money. Someone will out weight risk vs reward and pay him. Personally, I see CJ as a player of opportunity rather than creating. If his o line is on point opening up lanes CJ gets a shot at the second level and can make magic happen. But he rarely can create a play when o line is sluggish. Basically what Miller is at this point.

Zac Stacy - 5th round
Chris Ivory - undrafted
BenJarvis Green-Ellis - undrafted
Rashad Jennings - 7th round
Fred Jackson - undrafted

All of these guys are in the top 25 in rushing this season.

2 of those guys are actually studs. (Morris/Jackson)

Stacy could be on his way.

Blount had a good game in the national spotlight and now he's a stud?


Being in the top 25 in rushing is not really that impressive man, there are 32 teams.

sure you can find talent later in the draft or even in FA with unsigned guys but it's much MUCH harder to come across a diamond in the rough than it is to draft one of the top tier guys and get production out of them. Our team isn't in the position to be taking shots on finding someone off the radar for such an important position. If it's me making the decision i'm picking a RB in the 2nd assuming we pickup a tackle in FA and draft a tackle in the first. I'd love Seastrunk but take either Simms or even Hyde in the second or 3rd.

Just wanna let everyone know right now Jeremy Hill, and Carlos Hyde won't even be on Miami's draft board. 0% chance of them being drafted by Miami.

How can you make this statement when we don't even have a GM? I'm not saying that we will draft either of them but how can you say that when you don't even know who will be setting our draft board yet. Kind of a silly comment in my opinion. What are you basing this opinion on?

Why not draft a guy who could be the feature back for years?

Dude's averaging 1300 yards and 9 TDs in his career and is like 28 years old. Yeah, I'll take my chances.

I wouldn't pay him more than like 5 or 6 million a year. If another team wants to pay him more I'd let it happen.

Just name me one over the last 30 years. Remember the lifespan of a running back in terms of prime years is 4-6. So find me a player that was with their original team for 4-6 years and then had Pro Bowl level success with their new team.

All you're doing is stating your opinion. Nothing wrong with that. However, I'm looking at facts. Also, Fact: Philly's O-Line best in the league in terms on run blocking. Not because of the yardage that they're getting but by how BIG the holes are. If CJ got the holes Shaddy got this year he would have put up similar numbers, not as high, but similar. No one is second coming of Barry Sanders. Sanders average 1526 yards a year for 10 years! The only thing they have in common is the stop and go but then the same could be said for CJ's ability to break out big runs. Again, just my opinions.

Fair enough, Philly did have a great run blocking OL this year (but PFF[?] rated us higher than them in pass pro which is a wtf moment) and yes no one is Barry Sanders' second coming, but McCoy is almost as elusive at times it seems like. Adrian Peterson on the other hand... thats like combining Payton and Barry ha. So we can agree on OL being of high importance to most rb's playing well... seems to me thats where more of our money needs to be allocated

Blount and Lynch were not out of their prime. Blount was going into his fourth season with the Pats. Lynch was traded to Seattle during his fourth season.

Holmes went to KC after his fourth season but only had 2 seasons in Baltimore as the starter. No wear and tear there.

Million was serviceable but he wasn't even close to his prime. He was good for what they needed.

Johnson is going into his 7th year with a lot of mileage on those legs. His production hasn't gotten better in recent years. He is trending towards 800-900 yards a season rather than 1300-1600 yards a season.

I thought about starting this exact thread.

The guy wants the ball and he wants his money, and it's hard to tell exactly how much better runner he would be than some other, much cheaper option. He had a horrible year in 2012 (I think it was '12) and without a certain level of blocking help, he'll whine more than gain yards. It's just too hard to know if his production would match the high cost and 'Me' attitude.
