I really haven't been impressed with Pat White any of the two games I've seen him in. Granted, his time in this game was surprisingly limited (assuming he doesn't play in the second half but thats doubtful), but he hasn't shown the least bit of ability to make the plays that an NFL QB needs to be able to make in his sleep. His one play is to drop back and then tuck the ball and run, and that just doesn't get the job done in the NFL. Michael Vick was much faster and much more elusive than White, and a much better passer, and many still don't consider him a successful NFL QB (pre-dog incident).

Until White can learn to stand in the pocket for more than a second and complete a genuine NFL pass, he isn't going to be a useful QB.

Come on. He doesn't even have 10 pass attempts yet.

Because he tucks the ball and runs when he should be passing.

I realize that his playing time is short, but this is pre-season and what else are we gonna do? It still remains that we've had two games and I haven't been impressed yet. That doesn't mean he can't change that impression later on.

He is a specialty QB, he is doing what he will be doing in the regular season.

I don't doubt that he can be useful in some small regard but I would like to see him as more than a wild-pat player, especially since we spent a 2nd round pick on him and keeping him active as a 3rd QB will be hard.

The truth is, just like Chris William's has played scared, Pat White doing nothing but tucking the ball is playing scared too. He's not scared to drop his shoulder and run and maybe take a hit, but he is scared to stand in the pocket and pass.

As far as I can tell, he's not slated to start at Atlanta on opening day, so should we cut him any way??????

I agree with you, but there were a few threads after monday night's game where some were suggesting that White could legitimately compete for the backup job.
I've just seen Henne direct 2 scoring drives in the 3rd quarter and I think it's safe to say his job is secure

I was impressed with whites ability to keep the play behind..... lex is looking faster this year... i wish we could keep em

the main problem i've had with pat so far is that i don't see that explosiveness we saw in college...

everyone's fast in the NFL, and pat's speed seems to be nothing spectacular against nfl players... just my opinion

henne looks god awful right now tho

You must be watching a different game. He's moved the offense on 2 straight possessions. He's been solid, nothing more, nothing less. The sack and fumble was due to a whiffed block. Defender was in quickly, practically untouched.
To say he looks awful is just plain silly
