Not only did Aponte wreck the Browns

But she had a hand in dealing one of the worst QB picks, Mark Sanchez the No. 5 pick in the draft, to the Jets(which was not a bad thing) in return for safety Abram Elam, defensive lineman Kenyon Coleman and backup quarterback Brett Ratliff. Elam is the only one that even approaches being an avg player. Coleman has bounced around the league with like six different teams. I do not think Ratliff is even in the league anymore. That was supposed to be a great trade. If the Jets were not as inept as they were it would a win for them and another in a long list of fails for the Browns. You want this woman to lead this organization? You have got to be kidding! And the author is proud of it.

HA, you're hilarious. i love good comedy.

Dawn wrecked the Browns? Really? This would have to mean that the Browns were good and they then became lousy. The Browns gave always sucked....she had nothing to do with it.

The Browns have not always sucked. That is a erroneous statement.

Really? Since they are back in Cleveland (15 seasons) they had two winning seasons and one playoff appearance.
If you add the last six years before Model moved to Baltimore they had in 21 seasons a total of 3 winning seasons and 2 playoff appearances. Yeah, I call that "sucked always" when talking in relationship to current football executives.

Didn't she get fired from the Browns because their cap situation was terrible?

Not sure why Aponte comes up so much in the last couple days but she is with us for the last 3 years and already moved up the ladder last year. She is on the business side of football operations and has done a real good job with the cap and player contracts. She is not new to us. So what's the deal here? Sour grapes?

So it can be said then that Aponte overpaid for Wallace right?

You see, all the bad press Ireland got for overpaying, and now I am just realizing maybe Ireland had nothing to do with the end all in contracts.

From what we heard last year, it was good cop bad cop.

Who does anyone think was the bad cop? Ireland. But I am thinking it was the other way around.

Sour grapes? No, just the unbiased truth is what I want. That is important for future distinctions.

There was some speculation about her becoming the Czarina and taking over the whole lot, without skills as a player evaluator. The other big deal is that she is an extremely well educated (degrees in law, finance and accounting including a juris doctorate) and successful woman smashing the glass ceiling and some of our resident Finheaven misogynists get a little uncomfortable because she appears to have the strong support of the owner, Stephen Ross.

Steal?

Aponte hosed the Jets. :hclap:

S-anchez has no value, never had. In your two runs he was just along for the ride. :3w:

While you may want to argue the value of the players (though Coleman did pretty good for you guys) the added pick to move up for S-anchez is by far too much. :3w:

He lasted all of 4 seasons.

3 guys who were barely going to play if at all for a guy who helped us reach 2 title games. It was a huge steal.

So it can be said then that Aponte overpaid for Wallace right?

She didn't. As I pointed out in another post Wallace gets "only" 15 Million guaranteed. The rest is all base salary and performance bonuses. The 60 Million dollars is max payout if he reaches all incentives. If he does we are going to be pretty darn happy.

I know you love MS. We have a different opinion. I am not turning this into a thread about NYJunc or the Jets (I certainly don't know why you are in this or any other thread about our offseason issues).

You think it was a great move. I think it was boneheaded move. You think because of Sanchez you ended up in the AFC Championship game. I think he was just on for the ride. We leave it at that.

we had Brett Favre w/ similar talent the year before w/ a weaker sched and no Brady to worry about yet we didn't even make the playoffs.

Mark was not great but he was vital to both runs. It was a slam dunk move but it was mangini's move, Aponte just made it work cap wise.
