I know gus had some bad numbers but i can think of several plays that were not his fault or just trying to avoid trouble.

1.chambers had the dropp that they reviewed not a great throw, but not bad
2.ricky had a screen pass, it looked like he batted it down because they were all over him, not frerotte's fault
3.chambers could have caught that deep ball, it was tough but not a bad pass.
4.the hail mary? cant judge gus on that one.
5. he over threw gilmore about 4-5 yards maybe he thought gilmore would get there he is real fast, ill give gus a break on that one
6. he had a throw to booker that got batted down by a lineman, he should have seen him but that happens to the best
7. he had another screen pass to ricky close to the end of the half there was nothing there so he just threw it at rickys feet, thats a good decision its better than a pick.

i am not taking up for the guy but his numbers are not as bad as they look. although i think feeley should get a chance to start next week, but dont give up on gus he had some bad luck tonight, i did not see the pick though?

agree with all that except # 5 Gilmore was so open he should have hit him

ok thats a bad omen my 666th post was about defending gus! ahhh start feeley!

Yea, but 9 out of 25? Come on man, that's pathetic!

I think the AJ supporters would want to point out that he got Chambers nailed if you want to dismiss the Chambers drops.

i agree its bad but if you give him the benifit of 5 of those plays i mentioned
he is 9 of 20 not that horrible! feeley looked good though

what about the 10 yard overthrow to boston that was a sure touchdown if it was thrown to him?

i dare say feidler would have connected with him on that play

I think it would have been 14 for 25 if those would have been caught.

I don't care who you are or how great of a QB you are. When a WR runs a quick slant...you're bound to get nailed! It's the risk a WR takes on that route. With the millions they get paid and the barely $30,000 firefighters and police officers and people who put their lives on the line to save us get paid...they get hit ohwell.
A WR knows his routes possibilities. Chambers ran the slant and got smashed. Has nothing to do with Gus.
Give me a break. I've seen Peyton Manning give Harrison the ball in mid field and he got smashed too. We gonna say Manning sucks now?

Gus's QB rating has dropped each preseason game. The past two games were partially due to receivers dropping passes.

1) Agree
2)Strongly disagree. Should have never thrown it to him.

5)Disagree

7) Agree

But all those examples are no different then when Feeley plays. I know u aren't aking sides with this post.

Just that if botH QB'S are playing euqal ball u play the younger one to see if he might have a future.

i was just taking away 5 incompletions because he was just avoiding trouble i am not taking up for him but it was not the worst i have ever seen, if chambers catches that bomb and scores no one would be talking about frerotte sucks.

If we're actually going to discuss this, I think this is bunk. I actually think Chambers himself is at fault for the abuse he takes. It has taken a long time for me to get here, but the hits just keep coming. I don't know if it has something to do with him going at routes like these harder than others or is something he does/doesn't do that makes him special in this regard. He just seems to be a magnet for this stuff, though.

Probably right. But it's the final results that count, unfortunately.

The good thing is that the coaches will be able to watch the tapes and make their decisions accordingly.
