My wife from Toronto said the same as PM but it wasn't about the team but the location of the stadium and crime and raising kids - and me thinks PM was saying about the same - so don't take it to heart
Show me a football stadium that's not in a lousy neighborhood. :idk:
Having grown up literally 5 minutes from Joe Robbie Stadium, I could not disagree with your wife's assessment. There are parts of Miami that are rough, no doubt about it (Allapattah, Brownsville, Overtown) but gimme a break. Like Toronto is all sunshine and daises all over the city! Joe Robbie is in Carol City/Miami Gardens which admittedly is an average neighborhood but nowhere near the worst. I lived in West Hollywood/Pembroke Pines (just north of the stadium) and it's a fine neighborhood. Working class, ethnically diverse, single family homes.
The football players live out west in Weston; excellent schools, beautiful homes and 20 minutes from Joe Robbie.
I live in northern Virginia, but I moved away for different reasons (housing bubble/job market and relative dearth of non-Latin culture). I do miss it sometimes.
