Now I see the upside of Miami doing Hard Knocks

My wife from Toronto said the same as PM but it wasn't about the team but the location of the stadium and crime and raising kids - and me thinks PM was saying about the same - so don't take it to heart

Show me a football stadium that's not in a lousy neighborhood. :idk:

Having grown up literally 5 minutes from Joe Robbie Stadium, I could not disagree with your wife's assessment. There are parts of Miami that are rough, no doubt about it (Allapattah, Brownsville, Overtown) but gimme a break. Like Toronto is all sunshine and daises all over the city! Joe Robbie is in Carol City/Miami Gardens which admittedly is an average neighborhood but nowhere near the worst. I lived in West Hollywood/Pembroke Pines (just north of the stadium) and it's a fine neighborhood. Working class, ethnically diverse, single family homes.

The football players live out west in Weston; excellent schools, beautiful homes and 20 minutes from Joe Robbie.

I live in northern Virginia, but I moved away for different reasons (housing bubble/job market and relative dearth of non-Latin culture). I do miss it sometimes.

Biggest thing for me is it is a great motivational tool. Vontae I am sure has heard that speech before. But after watching the show and realizing that the world now views him as a huge waste of talent may be the straw that pushes him to change his focus. Sometimes people are more concerned about their image or self worth once a total stranger is let in. The extra focus I think will make some people that have not been accountable in the past step up.
