Now when you have sunday ticket are you able to access it through multiple TVs if you have more than one direct tv reciever?
Last year was my maiden voyage into NFL Sunday ticket, and let me say... it's WELL worth it, and I'll be ordering it again this year.
I imagine that it depends where you live, but for me, living in the midwest, we hardly had ANY 'phins games on over the past few years. There was one year at college I don't think I saw a single one live... ... blasphemy I tell you. Now... with Sunday ticket, I was able to watch every single game last year... it breaks down to about $10 a game sure, but when you take into account the fact that you don't waste money on food and gas going to the bar to catch the game, over time it really adds up, and by week 6 or 7 you've more than saved the food/gas/beer money you'd have spent at the bar. Don't get me wrong, I still may go to the bar for a game or two just for the fun of it, but... with Sunday Ticket, you never HAVE to go to the bar to catch the game.
Also, if you're a fan of football in general and not JUST the dolphins... then it really pays off because in addition to the 16 'Phins games you want to watch... you get to hand-pick the other 16 games you watch and aren't forced to be stuck with the freaking Vikings and Packers every week (again, living in the midwest).
Let me end with this... nothing's quite so satisfying than not having to watch a halftime show... being able to swtich from game to game to game is priceless. By the time the last game is going into halftime, the 'Phins game is almost always getting ready to come back on... Awesomeness!
I beleive the price should come down like many other things are of this nature. By buying into it you are supporting. Next year and I hate to say it might be a get real year for the NFL as some of these pay checks that the players and their agents are demanding get in line with with rest of the country. At least the rookie players at the top of the draft are paid way too much. Seems like as Americans we cannot get away from the greed and some cities relish in it like Washington DC in the NFL and New York in baseball. I live in Ft Myers and get most of the games but do get blacked out with being so close to Miami that they do not show the game or if Tampa is playing they show Tampa instead. I truly believe that the black out thing is loosing money for a local NFL team anymore. Showing the games locally on television creates local fans who might spring for a game espcially in an area like Miami. Many of the locals there are hispanic making soccor their sport of choice and showing them the game locally would edcuate them on the NFL and become Miami Dolphin fans.
Problem is Directv is starting next year will be paying roughly 700mil a year for the exclusive rights to the NFL. Currently I read somewhere that NFL Ticket has like 1.7 mill subscriptions, for Directv to break even they need 2 mil at $350 per year. If you google you can see the breakdown, each year NFL ticket goes up in price cause thats how the contract is set, unless the NFL brings the price down the price will only go up.
Don't get me wrong when I lived in NY it was worth every penny so I can see my fins, but now I have a bar close enough its not worth it and I enjoy watching the game with other fans.
You also have to add in the profits Directv makes from the customers that only have Directv becauce of Sunday ticket. If they did not have exclusive rights, the number of customers that they have would drop significantly.
