Now lets get this kid some Weapons to play with. what wr's are still avaiable later?

Philbin has not ruled it out yet him starting day 1, so why make false assumptions?

I guess its me seeing him play the last 2 years to come to the conclusion he isn't NFL ready. As was stated in his scouting report prior to the draft. If he starts day 1, then I will eat crow. But he won't and it is what it is.

Stephen Hill, Mohamed Sanu, or even Rueben Randle would be good pickups to add to the receiving corps in the 2nd round.

good point, we need to protect this kid. we use that 2nd round pick on the best rt available, than we hope some wrs fall to use at the 3 n 4.

I agree 100 percent. We have made no upgrade to our OL and the other 3 teams in our division just drafted in the 1st round or signed big name pass rushing FAs.

Offensive Lineman can last longer so you get them first. Without a improvement at RT they are going to pound Tannehill if he gets into the game.

This is when putting the 2nd round on a separate day really hurts. Hill and Fleener are just sitting there. I want one of them to slip to us and we better pull the trigger if one does. Also sign me up as someone who wants to take a run at Streeter in a later round.

Personally, I like our ability to evaluate cornfed OL and DL. I think we can rely on that strength to find a G or T in Round 3 or later. We don't always hit homeruns, but at the minimum we usually draft guys that are productive and plug holes for at least their rookie contract.

Frankly, I like the philosophy change so far in drafting. Let's continue the good mojo and go after a WR in the 2nd. Let's keep investing in our skilled future. All I am reading about Stephen Hill is how little downside he has and all the upside and talent he possesses. I've read how well he uses his hands to separate and is very good at getting cleanly out of the break. He's not as polished in his route running, but THAT can be taught. It's hard to teach getting off clean in tight coverage. I really like this kid.

Jeffrey is a freak of nature, but he has discipline problems. He tends to break off routes, freelance and sometimes gives up on a play. I've paid attention to him in the SEC over the years. When he is on... there's not many in the game like him. But when he decides to mail it in, he's a waste of space. We don't need head cases. He doesn't appear to be a Green Bay type receiver.

But, I admit, Stephen Hill has grown on me big time. So, we probably won't get him. :)

I don't think we will be taking a receiver in the 2nd (I believe we will go with a pass-rusher), and call me crazy, but I believe one of those three will reach Miami's 1st 3rd round pick, and that is when Miami will make a decision on who they want catching passes for Miami. I would love either anyone of those 3 to be picked in the 3rd if one of them actually does fall.

Alshon Jeffery should be the pick. This guy is a monster. He dominated games in the SEC with a terrible quaterback throwing him the ball (Garcia). He is the only person to dominate the Alabama's secondary a couple years back and that is a huge rarety against a Saban secondary in the college ranks. He is a big game player; has outstanding hands; good size (6'3"); and showed during his pro day he has speed (4.47 40). He is also a huge red zone target and can go up and get the ball. Also SC coaches said he was one of the hardest working players on the team; and despite his poor qb player has good character, never complaining about not getting the ball. He reminds me a bit of B Marsh without the offfield issues and better hands. Imagine what he can do with a decent qb.

You're CRAZY if you think that Stephen Hill sniffs the 3rd round.

I'll gladly stick my foot in my mouth, eat crow, take a picture of it and send it to you for good measure (if I'm wrong)

But I see him getting snagged up fairly quickly, I'm hoping not before we are picking at the 10 spot in the 2nd round.

Giving the QB time to throw would be the best weapon in my opinion and with the hole at RT I really feel like they need to address that with their 2. That said it would be fantastic to see someone the quality of Hill as well.

yup! Bobbi Massie would be a great pick up with our second pick!
