Now that all the top WR's are off the market please explain to me the backup plan?

They're trying to get Philbin fired before he ever coaches a game. Nice how they are setting him up for success. Two years from now he'll be fired because the team did nothing, yet they were the jackasses that stripped the team clean

For a team like the Miami Dolphins that is more than " a few pieces" away, it is not a bad move at all to trade 7'th year receiver who can get you two 3'rd round picks...... If even one of those 3'rd rounders turn out to be a young quality starter, it will be WELL worth it for a team like ours...

3'rd rounders are nothing to sneeze at, a lot of them can turn out to be great players.. you guys are acting like we traded him for a 6'th and a 7'th or something....

why keep him for 2-3 more years and diminish his value?!?!?

Agree that WRs are a dime a dozen. The focus of this franchise is to get a starting QB that can run the WCO. That is number 1. Marshall is do do or number 2.
Dolphins have to get the QB or all else is do do or number 2.

I like Floyd too in the draft or Blackmon or that guy RG3 threw the ball too or that big guy from South Carolina Jeffrey who is like a Marshall clone, only bigger with better hands.

I still can't wrap my head around this.....So who's the #1 Receiver? Hartline?

Its crazy how you can go from being super excited to downright depressed in a matter of minutes.

Thats alot of IF's to replace a WR that changed defensive coverages EVERYTIME he was on the field. What third rounders have we drafted since 2008 that are top 5 at their current positions? Just curious as to why you have so much faith in our drafting abilities.

Mike Wallace, Joey Porter, Hines Ward, Curtis Martin, Jimmy Graham, Justin Tuck, Matt Schaub,

These are all 3'rd round picks that turned out to be pro bowlers / super bowl winners. And I only checked maybe 8-10 teams drafts...

You're missing the main point of my reply...

Why keep marshall for 2-3 more years and diminish his value considerably? Do you think if we keep him we will be a championship contender?

Why not get 2 potential young starters out of him now... this team is not going to win in the next couple years.

If thats true then how come we havent been able to find a good one other marshall since...... Chambers? nm he was a second tier guy, McDuffie or Friar maybe? Have we really had a stud reciever since the Marks brothers?
I wouldnt say an all pro reciever is a dime a dozen or else we would have been had a dominant reciever since 1992 when Clayton and Duper left. 20 years to find something that is a dime a dozen?

Look how rarely the team used premium draft picks on WR's. McDuffie was a first rounder. He was solid for years, but never spectacular. Chambers was a 2nd rounder who produced for a while. Yatil Green blew his knees out multiple times. Ted Ginn was a horrible pick. They traded for Marshall, traded for Marty Booker, signed guys like James McKnight and Derius Thompson, etc. The truth is that the Dolphins haven't had consistent competent QB play in that whole stretch either. They were always just good enough to miss out on the premium players at skills positions or tried to draft to fill need rather than take the best player available regardless of position. They have tried the band aid approach for years.

There are always a lot of WR's out there. The Dolphins just haven't seemed to regard them too highly

Drew Brees was not a 3rd pick.

So esentially, we are in a constant rebuilding mode. We trade away playmakers for 3 round picks and hope someone steps up?

Back up plan:

Move team to Los Angeles. Hey Ross wanted us to be like the Lakers, so why not join them in LA?
