I think at this stage, you can't say that Miami will be looking at a QB. No-one in their right mind would give up a 2nd round pick for Feeley and then consign him to the annals of history after week3, especially with no blocking and thus no running game. To be honest, Matt Hasslebeck looked just as bad as Feeley does now, when he started at Seattle, but there are a lot of comparisons between the two.
The bottom line is that this team will not be making the playoffs anytime soon, thus it's imperative to make sure that Feeley stays the starter so we can gauge whether or not he is the right man for the job long term.
If he isn't, then Aaron Rodgers, Dan Orlovsky, Charlie Whitehurst, Matt Leinart, Kyle Orton, Charlie Frye, etc all become options. But remember, not many GM's would give up a 2nd round pick for a QB and then ditch him after a season.
Will it be TB? Cedric Benson, Marion Barber, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Dontrell Moore, Eric Shelton are all good options, although top 10 is questionable for all but Cadillac and Benson probably. Whoever mentioned Gore.....he's too injury prone to ever be considered this high.
It's unlikely to be a WR or a TE and if you look at the OL and the money invested, picks invested, then you have to wonder about T. Alex Barron or Jammal Brown or Logan Mankins, make a lot of sense. For me Ben Wilkerson makes the most sense, but not in the top 10. A player I have loved since his freshman season is Elton Brown at Virginia, one of the best guards I have scouted in years and who would make tremendous sense at RG, with Hadnot at OC and Jeno James at LG. That would give you a massively powerful interior. Brown is as mobile a G as I have seen in years.
Thus, despite the woes of the offense, you have to look at Rodrique Wright at DT or Antajj Hawthorne, or a DE like David Pollack or Mathias Kiwanuku or Dan Cody or one of the drafts "SPECIAL" players in Texas LB Derrick Johnson. The DT corps on our team is old, weary and in the case of Larry Chester, coming off a serious injury. You could also make a case for drafting Antrell Rolle and playing him and Will Poole at corners and shipping out both Surtain and Madison
Unfortunately, this draft doesn't look to have a caseload of "superstars" in its midst. But it all depends on what the new HC wants to do and what he sees from the talent on the current roster.
