O-Line critique?

They did not look great. I don't have tivo so can't really critique them, but I think just like the Bears game this game film will be saved and used for teaching the oline where blitzes come from and what SHOULD be done to block them. I keep saying that between the Bears and this game all that blitzing will be a blessing come mid-season...

I really think game planning is going to improve the blitz pickups. Hopefully we will be better off next game, hopefully we go in with somewhat of a game plan.
I look for us to win the next game by 10 or more.

The o-line play did backslide last night, but honestly, I think we had been on a bit of an overachieving streak. The whole team just looked mentally "not-there" last night.

bingo. couldnt have said it better. The defense came to play though. and special teams were much better than against jax by far!

i really do not care if we win the next one or not, what i want is a good effort to improve in a way that you can tell that the message is getting through. The Oline is the problem for sure. going against Pitt and Jax defenses, and even chicago's D as well, is just the blessing in disguise we need. I dont care if we have to play the toughest schedule in the league, it is healthy for us to learn under these circumstances.

The oline didn't play great, but it was all mistakes in pickups etc.

One bright spot: FRANK MIDDLETON!!

Wow.

Saw him Pancake three guys. He's a mauler and a mean son of a gun.

Were i saban and Houck, I insert middleton into the starting RG spot NOW. Move Hadnot over. Hadnot is also a very agressive player. He just makes youngin' mistakes (misses reads etc.).

Carey i thought did a good job to this point as well.

The poor play came from McKinney, McDougle and James. Hadnot had some mistakes but was still agressive. James is still slightly off, but he's improving. He obviously needs to get his strength back.

I liked what i saw from Ephraim (back up center). He looks like a tough kid, and Alabi is coming along nicely.

I believe our starting line of:

LT - Carey
LG - James
C - Hadnot
RG - Middleton
RT - McDougle

We'll be fine with this unit. Someone needs to light fires underneath McDougle and James' butts. Middleton could be the right guy.

like san diegos?

can not compare our O-line under Houck to San Diego's. Each of the guys playing in San Diego were drafted while Houck was there. They were Houck picks.

Here in Miami, he is having to shape guys that were already here. guys that don't necessarily fit his style or mold. given time, they will adjust and learn, but to be compared to SD is not fair to them.

You know what's weird...why the hell is every team blitzing us like crazy...this started last season and is leading into this season.

because we can't run against 8 or more in the box, and we can't pass against it either. you would be a fool to play the dolphins and not bring the heat all day long.

the best example that comes to mind is game 2 vs bills last year at dolphins stadium. in the first quarter the bills came out playing a soft zone and we scored 21 pts. then, they starting bringing pressure and we didn't score another td until the 4th qrtr. aj had 5 ints that game and 3 in the 4th qrtr....

or is it because the Bears and the Steelers, BLITZ LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
