Offensive line gets shaken up in Monday's practice

I kind of saw the same thing Astro mentioned....I thought the right side was getting beat more often than the left...I also thought Carrey held his own out there....McKinney still sucks donkey nuts.

From all reports Carey was holding his own at LT, even against JT in practice. This may be more of a case of moving Carey to try to improve the right side than moving him due to any failings on the left. Still, I would think you would want your best lineman protecting your QBs blind side. All we can do is trust Houck and Saban....after all, they make the big bucks for a reason.

It may be a decision between being really good on the left and barely adequate on the right and being merely good on both sides.

This is some pretty terrible news. I get the feeling that they're trying to see what McIntosh would be like at LT and Carey at RT just because of how bad the right side is getting blown up. I've only seen the Bears game (no NFL network) and read camp reports, but it seems to me that Hadnot is playing well at Center, but he's playing pretty badly at Guard. Any truth to this?

I had some good hope for the line this year (especially after I heard about Carey playing well), but it's not turning out so well so far. I hope that once we start game planning it shows up differently.

Our O-line is about two drafts away from being good. We've had such little talent make it onto the line in the last 5 years.

This is the first thing that came to mind when I read about the changes. But Hadnot would be able to help McDougal more if he wasnt trying to save Seth's @ZZ. We have got to start any changes at the C position which is by far the weakest on the starting line. I pray that Middleton gets into shape, and assumes the RG spot moving Hadnot to C where I think he will be a monster. Once this happens Stockar should re-emerge as the RT.

Maybe it's only for the day to sent McDougle a message.

I can't see Carey not being the opening day LT. Plus if anyone should take over at RT it should be St. Clair or McIntosh.

Not so terrible. Houck is familiar with MacIntosh. Apparently he/they believe MacIntosh can handle LT.

I was more looking forward to serviceable. Having the ability to open running lanes and not getting the QB killed on every play. So far I haven't seen much of either. Still, it's preseason and we haven't gameplanned. I'll be more worried if the same thing happens against Tbay

I just think it's the talent level of our line, it's not there and the back-ups are pathetic.

I'm sure he does. Didn't MacIntosh start in San Diego a couple years ago? I certainly would never begin to doubt Saban and Houck, but I will permit myself to be disappointed in the results at this point. Judging by the article, I think Saban (and Houck?) might be disappointed too.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to a time when one of our OL goes down. I honestly can't think of a single position we have real depth in.

Middleton needs to hurry up and get into some shape, I think he will be a posative on the O-Line at this point, I'm not sure it can get much worse. I feel C is probably the weakest position if we can get that cured then everybody else should be able to fend for themselves. The camp report should be intresting providing we get one.

Has Stockar McDougle really been that much of let down to be demoted to the second team?? I was very high hopes and expectations for him, I'm not too confident thus far.

That's the Wanny legacy, no depth. He pissed away so many draft picks and made such bad personel decisions that it will take Saban quite a while to upgrade our team depth.
